Restaurant was very clean. The things i noticed were as follows. The bread was cut up and dry.Why not provide small dinner rolls? Thre were pieces of butter rolls. Why not go up a noth and make garlic bread? There was no pepper or salt.Had to ask.Why not have small salt and pepper mills on each table? The gnocchi was bland, mushy and tastelss. Calamari was soft and mushy. This might indicate that it was old and standing too long . Chef should concentrate on quality of food than taking photos of the buffet. No signs to indicate various ice cream flavours in small fridge by the sweets. The lamb was cut up on board. This made it cold and bland.Thre was no other meat on the carvery. Apple crumble, custard?was so thick that upon pouring,a chunk of custard dropped out in the bowl from the jug provided. This might indicate non fresh made custard or gone cold. Staff were good but a little annoying.Trying to eat and kept asking if everything is satisfactory. Please one time is enough as one is trying to relax with partner. Trying too hard can backfire. Glass that came with beer was not cold.Beer can go flat quickly. Staff standing at the buffet can make one uncomfortable while trying to place food on plate.Let people breathe a little please rather than been a nuisance. Nuts on cheese board seem soft. This could be because they have bee left in open air for a long time or that they are old. One set of cutlery for the duration of our meal. After having various plates, the fork and knife became a mess.Have cutley available by the plates for one to take as required can help. The staff do not mention what type of coffee is available with paid...
Read moreThe Windows Restaurant at the Pullman, Albert Park, offer a seafood buffet once a month. The seafood included the standard items such as oyster, prawns, mussels and crab. All was nice and met our expectations. The soup option was a seafood bisque and was disappointing. The hot food consisted of rice, salmon, lamb tagine, roasted root vegetables, gnocchi, lamb souvlaki meat and salt and pepper calamari. There was no chicken, beef or pork available on the buffet so if you don’t like lamb (like one of the people I was dining with) your hot food options are limited. The gnocchi was mushy and there was no pita bread to wrap the souvlaki meat in. The salt and pepper calamari batter was not crispy although the second batch was better when it was refilled. There was a good range of desserts and were quite enjoyable except the churros were not crunchy. There was a good variety of ice cream flavours offered. I would suggest that the tubs of ice creams be labelled with the flavours. Tea and coffee is included in the cost of the buffet which is $89 per person. The staff were nice and the food on the buffet was constantly being refilled. Unfortunately, there may be some better options if you are considering a seafood...
Read moreI haven't been to such a buffet of that magnitude in years. My medication affects the amount of food I can eat or they'd be in real trouble! On a good day I could easily consume 2 or 3 times more food that most people. Seafood I don't eat often so oysters dont eat often, didnt yesterday prawns were mediocre and left my peeler at home, but that didn't matter that much as I didn't eat that many prawns. It was the bugs the took to, even my guest was surprised how many I was eating. Hes not a big seafood fan, fish is about his limit. Tried the dessert, all I enjoyed was rocky road, rest went to waste, I didn't even enjoy the jelly. Highly recommended and will return next year and be looking into the monthly seafood buffet @ $90: head. Contacted my surgeon told him to take his wife there and wouldn't have to be a special night or day. They would remember it for years to come. I would have had more prawns to feed seagulls afterwards anf taken a...
