Heirloom Seed is a well presented cafe operating in the bottom of an office building on the busy but picturesque St Kilda road. Frequented by office workers, school students, teachers, and construction/road workers alike this place has something for everyone. The staff were quick to greet me and attend to my order, just a coffee and some remote work before a meeting, I sat outside allowing the perfect vantage point for people watching, distractions, from my laptop. The coffee was solid and delivered with a smile. Being a regular of office workers it’s a clear spot for a meeting or lunch, that can lead to being bombarded by overzealous conversations from other patrons about what’s important to them on the day. Not a downside on the cafe at all but if you’re heading in for a quiet bite or coffee just throw in your headphones. Read moreAm I just really unlucky or does this place need to get a heath inspection because the last 4 times I have been here I ended up getting really bad stomach pain which makes me go to the toilet even less than 60 seconds after getting out of the toilet, it always starts later mid afternoon and all night until next morning it will not stop until I take a Gastro-Stop and diarrhoea pill. But more strangers do not happen when I go to a different cafe in the same area. Read moreThe food is nice, they have a large selection for lunch, if you are grabbing a bite to eat then I would recommend. Meals arent too expensive.
Customer service is lacking and dulls the experience, especially if you are a regular.
In terms of coffee they aren't incredible, the long blacks are not great and the staff usually wont understand an overly conplicated order, or they will ignore it and give you a "next best thing" and hope you wont notice. They dont flush group heads when they make coffee so it can be bitter when...
