I spent $28.11 here.
REVIEW: Delicious food with plenty of flavour. In particular, the vegetable bibimbap was my favourite. An abundance of toppings meant each spoonful was filled with a slightly different combination. It also worked as a more interesting rice option than just white jasmine rice. A creative way to get your vegetable intake in! They did forget to bring out the bibimbap sauce, but were quick to provide one when I asked for it.
You order through the QR code, and you pay up the front when you're done. It's modern, efficient, and it feels like the food comes out fast. The food is pretty affordable, but if you want a really filling meal you might want to try aim for $30-$40pp mark.
The service made it a -1 though. Yoon's free banchan looked delicious, but they forgot about it until the end of our meal. Banchan should be served at the start! They were apologetic, but I would've liked more banchan with my meal. Especially when the small nibbles I had was so delicious.😞 The food coming out was a little bit scattered too. Random rice bowl comes after the soup, and they forgot the bibimbap sauce with my bibimbap.
Overall, I would recommend Yoon's Kitchen if you're in the area, and you're craving some home style Korean foods! You do need to be a bit on top of their service and...
Read moreWe ordered a large original fried chicken with honey mustard sauce on the side. The order was delivered as requested. We weighed it because it didn’t feel like it was 800g as written on their menu. Lo and behold, it was not even 600g. We called the restaurant directly and took it up with them. They said they will give us the remaining 200g of chicken and if they can’t do delivery, they will call us for pickup. We waited for more than an hour, and the chicken never came, they never called us for pickup and they did not pick up our calls when we called them back. I’m very disappointed as it is one of the local restaurants that me and my friends frequented. We are trying to continue to support them during lockdown and it’s really disappointing to receive this kind of service. Sad to say, I will not support them anymore since they obviously don’t care to honour their menu nor their customers.
Update: Follow up to what happened last night, the head chef of Yoon’s Kitchen in Blackburn personally contacted us to apologise and explained how they determine what a large portion of their original fried chicken should be like. He then proceeded to deliver a new serve of fried chicken in person and apologised again. I am very grateful that they took this matter seriously and the head chef was humble and took the steps to contact us and personally resolved the issue. My housemates and I are very impressed. Thank you for your...
Read moreHmmm, where do I begin, I feel half scammed. I paid over $20 for watery beef bone soup. On the other hand, the ginseng chicken soup was filled with substance and worth it. The beef soup didn't look like the picture and before you tell me it's just the presentation, I have proof. Although the ginseng soup obviously didn't look like the picture, it still felt like it has substance and actual food in the soup whereas the spicy beef bone soup was just watery spice with few pieces of things? I just feel scammed that's all. $23 is overpriced for just bland spicy water without adding extras. Maybe don't add it on the menu if it's just gonna be those few things and 80% spicy water. There was literally nothing even when it was served, like one spoonful and it can pick up everything that's in the soup??? Just for future customers, don't order this dish if u want something worth it.
Response to the owner: Maybe in your description box say : a few thin layers pieces of pulled beef. 6 pieces of small rice cake and few strands of glass noodle. Whether i ate it before or after taking the picture, the result was still the same. It was filled with more water than substance. It was such a huge contrast with the ginseng chicken soup. 😃 (we also took the picture of the ginseng chicken soup after eating, still had so many...
