Saw people recommending on social media so decided to try my favourite dish, grilled fish, in this restaurant. 1st red flag: This restaurant called steamed bun restaurant but they are doing Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine at the same time, which are completely different. One is extremely spicy and the other is not spicy AT ALL AT ALL. Anyway I still ordered my grilled fish. The peanuts in it are not crispy at all so who knows how long they were kept in the fridge. 2nd: this is the first grilled fish I ever had that has rice cake in it like literally and the cheapest bean sprout. The fish is also really small and apart from the rice cake, not crispy peanuts and cheapest bean sprout it only has black fungus in it. I ordered spicy grilled fish but somehow my grilled fish doesn’t taste spicy at all. I didn’t say anything because I thought Oh this must be their spicy level. Later on, on the docket I saw this is the cumin flavour. This ruined my meal and my day. But have to say their black truffle xiaolongbao did taste nice. But sorry my dear with the price I paid and with what I got especially not what I ordered, I will never come here again.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience! From the moment we walked in, we were treated to an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance is elegant yet inviting, with soft lighting and a beautifully curated decor that sets the perfect tone for a memorable evening. The menu is a masterpiece, offering a creative fusion of flavors that cater to both adventurous eaters and those who prefer classic dishes. Every bite was a revelation—the ingredients were fresh, the presentation was artful, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The beef in hot chili oil was an absolute standout, and the Sichuan ice jelly was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. The service was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and wine pairings. They made excellent recommendations and ensured every detail was taken care of without being intrusive This restaurant is a true gem and worth every penny. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to an extraordinary meal, this is the place to go. We can't wait to return!

ORDERED: 🍝  Singapore noodles 🥟  Xiao long bao (pork) 🥟  Truffle xiao long bao Spent $25.58pp here REVIEW: I think it's one of those places that used to be good. Old instagram reviews and broadsheet for Yulongfu mention pan fried pork buns. But to our disappointment, the waitress explained they were too hard to make so they've culled it off the menu. Sadness ensues. The xiao long bao skins, even though they're "16 fold" or however many, is too thick. The singapore noodles are noticeably light on the char siu but they have packed it generously with capsicum instead. Overall, the food is mediocre at best. We've decided to stick to Old Beijing/ Shanghai street/ HuTong Dumpling Bar if we wanted to fulfil our dumpling needs. Service is hurried, and there's a lack of english and cantonese. Luckily my partner was able to make some headway with his conversational mandarin but it did not feel particularly friendly. A surprise when it's so close to the centre of the CBD.

My first trip to melbourne led me to discover this place on a quest for a late night feed. sitting down with my friends, there were orders of pork belly, chicken wontons in chili sauce and steamed pork buns.

the pork belly came out first, with a fragrant broth and the most tender pork i've had in a long time. the broth was hearty, full of home style flavours that satisfied the soul, and the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth perfection.

the chicken wonton in chili sauce was exactly the right amount of spice, full of flavour and kept ypu going back for more.

the steamed pork buns were classic and perfect; sweet dough and full flavoured meat combining to make a masterpiece.

to finish, we had the fried ice cream. cononut in the batter with chocolate sauce encasing a vanilla scoop makes for the best finisher to the most satisfying meal i've had in a long, long time.

this place is amazing. i will make an effort to come back here again before i leave, and look for an excuse to come to melbourne just to eat here again.

i would suggest this place to anyone who likes great...
