Ritz Caffe — Restaurant in Midland

We stopped in at Ritz for some late morning tea / brunch and were so impressed with the warm and friendly staff, prompt service, and excellent food. My choc chip muffin was divine, and my parents enjoyed their vanilla slice as well. Dad finished the whole lot! Mum really appreciated the use of proper tea-leaves and the provision of a tea-leaf strainer for her tea, and the coffee was absolutely lovely. My little dog was made so very welcome and enjoyed the pats and fuss from the staff - and her poached eggs on toast were perfect! Ritz is a very lucky find and we will most certainly be back. My sister and I only started coming to Ritz Café recently, and it’s already one of our favourite places. The coffee is seriously good—especially the black coffee (hard to find a place that does it right!). But what really makes it special is the vibe. The people who work there are so kind and genuine—it honestly feels like walking into someone’s home for a cup of coffee. Super warm, super welcoming.

Visited today. I usually only write reviews for exceptional good service or food. I am writing this review for the exceptionally worst meal I have ever been served at a cafe. Chicken and mushroom soup, presentation was awful, fat floating on surface, looked like dishwater, chicken skin and gristle was the only evidence of chicken, watery, no evidence of mushroom other than the light brown colour. This cafe really needs to lift its game or meet the same fate as Mondo's...
