The Setts Mildura — Restaurant in Mildura

Went to a music event and here is my experience:

It was 90%+ humidity inside (AC's were off) The small tables and chairs were at the back of the room with the taller tables and chairs at the front completely blocking the view of the stage Numerous children present in an alcohol driven environment Speaking of alcohol, $9 for a Carlton Dry Stubbie. That mark-up is insane!

Now these things I was going to just put up with. What I couldn't put up with despite loving heavy metal, was for there to be a heavy metal band absolutely smashing away in the room literally next door to the room with the acoustic show I was trying to watch. It didn't matter that the speakers were blasted at unsafe levels (a child standing right in front of them too) because the drums and cymbals crashing next door were still overpowering the show.

The only thing I could see it as was an unsatiable greed for money putting a show on like that. I was mind blown by the terrible experience!

At least the staff were pretty great. It's a shame whoever is in charge is clearly a greedy...

The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, slow-cooked to draw out every bit of flavor and infused with a deep, aromatic sauce that complemented the meat beautifully. The portion was generous, and the balance of seasoning was spot on, not too salty, not too mild, just full of bold, savory goodness. Served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, every bite was warm, comforting, and deeply satisfying. It’s the kind of meal that makes you pause mid-bite and just go, “Wow".

Absolutely loved the food at The Setts! The bao buns were soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor — a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy. The pork belly was the real star though — beautifully tender with a crispy skin that melted in your mouth. Everything was cooked to perfection and presented with care. You can tell the kitchen puts a lot of pride into their dishes. Great portion sizes and reasonably priced too. Highly recommend if you’re after something delicious and satisfying. Definitely coming back to try more from the menu. A must-visit in Mildura for...
