Arrived with a group at 6.30. Our table finally had all our meals by 8.45. We had two tables together, booked as a group. One table had been served, eaten, cleared and it was about 20mins later that we had our first meal served. Was mid-week. Place was relatively empty. There was 3-4 in the kitchen and 2 waitresses. They were out of lamb, that can happen.. All steaks on our table were not cooked correctly. They were cooked on flame too hard. Charcoal outside. There's flame grilled, then there's crucified. It was clearly cooked in a hurry. I had raw carrot. My schnitzel had a large piece of gristle in it which wasnt pleasant, but otherwise it was ok. Pepper gravy was good though. Another meal came with little rice, my wifes steak was well done (crucified) and didnt eat half of it. They brought it with vege when ordered with salad. Then they brought out a salad which was lettuce, red onion and one piece of cucumber. All in all, not many happy people on our table, but everyone was so hungry. We turned it into a joke to lighten the mood. Regarding the bar, I ordered one spirit - ran out of that so couldnt have another. I then ordered something different, again after one drink they were out of that as well. No explanations from staff. No apologies. Staff basically were evasive and avoided our table. We can only guess what happened. Based on the fact the waitress came back at around 8.20 to confirm some meals, i expect the order wasnt put through?? Be nice they take some ownership and actually let us know what was going on. Waitresses started ok, but went downhill when it didnt work out. Rather than avoid, keep the customer informed! When my wifes plate was taken and commented that the steak wasnt really edible, nothing was said. I understand the group was charged full price and no discount offered. The impression I am left with is they just didnt care. Probably the worst dining experience ive had in Mildura in 27 years here. So disappointing given our firends had suggsted it was great a few weeks prior. We were looking forward to a good meal. Will never go back again, and I would turn down any offers to return. Read moreDanielle I am sorry to provide this complaint as I have been a regular at the Mercure and a regular and happy customer of your restaurant. Tonight I explained to one of your staff that my wife had recently had an operation and the result of which has meant she is on a special diet involving puréed food or limited soft foods and that she can eat very little. This was met with a roll of the eyes noticed unfortunately by my wife. We should have walked out then but didn't and instead we ordered the only thing on the menu my wife could eat which were scallops along with a main meal for myself. Being an Accor Plus member I also asked if that card would be honoured. As it turned out I was led to believe it would be but unfortunately it was not explained until presenting the card after the meal that only one of the two meals ordered would receive a discount of 25%. In the past a discount has been applied to the total bill at 37 % so I was surprised that the discount was less and applied to only one meal. I asked that in future the staff member might like to advise Accor Plus members of what your discount policies actually were and how they differed to the Accor Plus discount, suggesting this is preferable to advising a customer that the Accor Plus discount would be honoured and then not doing so. Again a roll of the eyes and an argumentative attitude suggesting it was your (the owner's) policy and to take it up with you directly. If indeed that is your policy my suggestion to her that it be explained before an order is made is still reasonable and ought to be standard practice. Overall this is why I have rated the service as one star and in future I will not be served by this staff member but I would like to continue to use your restaurant if you are present as you have been very welcoming...

Wine list unavailable at the moment as a new one is being put together. Not a worry as staff well aware of what limited items were available. Free glass of bubbles for Mother’s Day ❤️thank you. We ordered scotch with seafood topping and scotch with mash, veggies and mushroom sauce on the side. Both steaks medium not medium rare. Mushroom sauce was so lacking in flavour I accused it of being gravy until I received exactly the same bland sauce with the tiniest bit of mushroom in it. Mash lovely. Veg good. Because we were hungry we did a panic buy of garlic bread, not realising it is covered in honey! Yes it does say it is drizzled in honey so my bad but 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃why would anyone do such a thing?
