Mamak House Perth — Restaurant in Morley

If you like roti canai DO NOT come here. The staff is friendly. The place seems quiet. Not hard to find a table. But if you're looking for authentic mamak food, this place is not it. I ordered nasi lemak, curry laksa and the roti canai. Laksa was good. Can't fault it. The nasi lemak wasn't authentic. Nasi lemak didn't have the coconut rice that it's supposed to come with which makes it so distinguished. No peanuts either. I could be picky there but if you know, you know. The roti is what made me the saddest. $15.50. It was smaller than my hand. It was the most expensive roti I've ever ordered and also the smallest I've ever received. Served with a large curry portion which honestly didn't make sense. The owner asked how the food was and I had to be honest about the roti. She said that she DID recommend getting the rice, but if we wanted rice and curry, we could just make that at home. She said it was hard to make the roti but I knew it was store bought, she said it was hard cause she didn't have an oven, but I've never met anyone who makes a roti on an oven. A good place to come when it's closing and the food is cheaper for the 'grab and go', but I would never come here for a sit...

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! The lady at the front is a nightmare to deal with, and she so happens to be the owner so she does not care at all. I refuse to give her anymore of my money.

Ordered one dish take away and had to wait and watch as 3 tables and 3 other takeaways that ordered after me, got served before me. Pretty sure she did it on purpose and I honestly have no idea why she hates me. I've been a few times and each time there is a different horrible experience. Lesson has finally been learnt, I will not be coming back.

If you're in Morley and craving a good chicken rice, I recommend Hoi Bo (it's across the road and if you dine there they give you free soup with a generous serving of chicken rice when you order the chicken rice), OR there's Big Mama's in Coventrys. Save yourself the headache in dealing with this owner and their non-existent...

used to come here over the years, my usual go to for chicken rice, but i had a different experience when i figured how much hainanese chicken rice goes for now!

i hope the restaurants see this as its not reasonable or afordable! i remember coming here when its 9$ for a great servings of chicken rice! now its $15 for the same serving portion which blows my mind! i understand cost of livings are going up but i know my asians restaurant are cheaper than usual and amazing in taste! but after hearing about this! i hope they make some changes in their prices! As i would love to come here and not be negated by price otherwise please add 1.5 or even 2x more meat, as there are alot of adjacent malaysian restaurants that charges equivalent and you can get way more in serving sizes
