Pearl River Restaurant — Restaurant in Morley

If you wish to have any chance of a good experience with focus on customer service, then this place is NOT the place for you to be.

I and my family went to this restaurant on a Wednesday at 5pm in the afternoon expecting to be served with respect and dignity, however we did not receive any of that.

When we entered the restaurant, no staff members greeted us, and I had to ask the staff at the front counter for service and where we should sit. Instead of polite and welcoming, he, the manager of this restaurant as I found out later, would simply state at you blankly and tell you the table number then be done with it. You can feel in the air that he does not care in any aspect about the customers as he pays no respect with the way he acts.

When we were seated, we realized that the table was too small because it was my birthday and we wanted to order a lot of items. We had to ask this person who stood in the center of the room, but instead of responding to us he would try to ignore us and not give an answer to our requests by pretending he did not hear anything, when clearly at the time he was not talking to anyone, and the restaurant was quiet because there were only 4 other tables, you really had to stand in front of him for him not to be able to dodge your requests.

At this point we could not continue to dine here because never at another restaurant where we were treated so disrespectfully and blatantly as if we were non-existent people, especially by someone who is a manager, who is supposed to know how to serve people and make them happy about their time spent here.

I also tried to ask for the owner of the restaurant, but the owner was not there at the time. Which may be the reason for such actions by a manager as there are no consequences ever to be had. So be careful if you wish to have a good dining experience as you may be treated with the opposite here at...

Food are actually quite nice, but what disappointing is that their service is terrible. First, the guy who answered the phone for my reservation sounded apathetically, don't even mention that he didn't say thank you before he hung up. Second, I booked for 11 people, but when we got there, there was only 10 chairs. They were lucky though, coz one of our friend couldn't make it. Third, they have this very heavy stand right behind our table and one of the chair couldn't even being pulled out. and this waitress just simply say "u guys just simply scoot over so u don't sit right in front of the stand." 🙄 Then why don't u guys move our chair away from the stand before we even sit at this table!? Fourth, I asked them for recommendations, they were like "depends on what u prefer." 🙄 Duh! I don't need to ask u for recommendations then! Fifth, we didn't order rice, but they automatically bring us a bucket of rice and tried to charge us 10 bowls of rice. What the!? We definitely talked to them but they still charged us 5 bowls of rice as they thought that bucket has 5 bowls of rice there and they have given us already. 🙄 Overall, worse experience eating here, and worse customer service here. I ordered 3 dishes and the satay beef had a fly when i asked my daughter why she isn't eating she then showed me the fly it was a bit big for a fly i will post a pic . They did apologies and made another but it was too late my daughter wanted to leave .
