Good food if you order the right stuff but a little pricey. Limited seating.
Came here on a Saturday morning with the family. The place is a little small and right on the edge of the road at a busy carpark. Those with young kids should be cautious. Good thing is that there's plenty of parking.
We ordered a chilli crab scramble, mala scramble, mushroom toastie, and a mango matcha.
The chilli crab scrambled eggs was great. The scramble was well done - soft and buttery. It was topped with a flavourful and spicy crab topping. The spice packed a good punch. However, there wasn't much topping. The serving size seemed slightly small for the price. The sourdough was beautifully buttered and toasted but it didn't have much of that classic sourdough flavour.
The mala tomato scramble was almost a complete disappointment, saved only by the pickled zucchini. The scramble was the same - beautiful. But there was no mala flavour and no spice in the tomatoes. We tried really hard to find the mala flavour and it just wasn't there. The pickled zucchini was fantastic. Sourdough was the same - lacking in flavour.
Mushroom toastie was good. Nothing to shout about. Just decent for the price. Mango matcha was good. Great match for the food.
The server who brought our food seemed like she really didn't want to be there. Not friendly, not warm, didn't bother with a single glance, and didn't care about who had what dish even after I signalled who was having the dish. The experience was disappointing.
All things considered, we've had better food with better service at a similar price point. Maybe I'm just still trying to get past how disappointing that mala tomato...

The portion of the miso mushroom was smaller and did not meet the standard we loved the first time. We also had the Bulgogi cheesesteak with waffle fries. While the meat was generous and well-flavored, and the bread was soft, the entire dish was just ok. The service, however, was impeccable and polite despite how busy they were. This was also the first time we sat in the middle veranda with the tree in the center, and the atmosphere detracted from the whole experience— it smelled like old oil and garbage, and with the deliveries happening to the nearby restaurants, it was just not a good vibe.
This place is hitting all the right notes.
Beautiful cafe, lovely customer service and delicious food.
The dolce latte (I got it hot) was such a delight. Hot coffee, cold whipped cream and cinnamon… absolute sensation.
The miso mushroom with scrambled eggs was exactly what you’d expect ordering it off the menu. Balanced umami, gorgeous bread and perfect scramble.
It’s a little wait between ordering and getting your food but nothing too crazy.
Can’t wait to be back and try out...
Read moreCheol’s is by far our absolute favourite place to eat! I am so grateful I found this little spot as I cannot get enough of it. I always order the Spanish chorizo omelette dish even though I think to try order something else each time I go back. My boyfriend who doesn’t usually like going out for breakfast, absolutely loves it here as well - to the point where he told the owner this is the best place he’s eaten at in Perth. His favourite meal on the menu is the bulgogi cheesesteak. We also like to try a sweet treat from the cabinet each time we come - the biscoff brownie was our favourite! The owner and staff at Cheols are very warm and welcoming, they are extremely helpful in giving you great recommendations on what to try if you’re unsure. The quality of food and drink served here is perfect and everything is very well priced. The cafe is beautiful and is very cosy/comfortable to dine....
