Things started out okay - appearance was good, the welcome was acceptable. Keeping in mind it was Easter Saturday and the restaurant was fairly busy, we left disappointed. It felt like we should be honoured to be there, not the other way around.

When we ordered with the manager, we got half way through and she said "that's not enough for all of you, are you going to order more?" I said, "yeah, i know". We completed the order and then in a pushy way, the manager tried to get my wife to order wine. Time passed and the first dish came out and it tasted fairly good. But then it took well over an hour for our mains to come out, with others getting theirs ahead of us even though we ordered before them.

The manager brought the mains to our table and said "i need some room here", so we made some space for her. Around that time a cockroach was running around our table (I squished it but it was never removed), and it was only after the manager asked the waiters to clear our table that they did. The mains weren't to our initial liking (but it was okay, but not worth the wait). There was a confrontation at the till involving an Indian group and the manager refused to back down.

When i went to pay the bill, all was good till the manager asked for the used (cheap) kids colouring book back that they gave us for our kids to use to pass time. She said "oh, i need that back too" and went to take it from me. When she gave it to us they managed to find 1 or 2 crayons and she checked the little box on the book where they should normally be and asked where they were. I said "lady, I don't know" (getting fed up). And she said "oh, it's ok, they are probably over there (at our table)".

The food was okay, but they have much to learn about service. I don't know if the manager was having a bad day or having trouble managing stress, but I suspect their service attitudes would be like that even during non-busy times. 2 stars instead of 1 only for the fact the food was ok, but the service ruined that and left a sour taste...

Ok I was sceptical of the 1 star reviews, didn’t want to believe it could be that bad but walking out of that hotel left me feeling stuffed and cross.

I swear this is legit, and I actually ate there, at table 6 to be precise. First thing we walked in and since our child was sleeping we headed towards the sofa like seat, and mind you, the hotel was deserted at the time.

we probably sat there for a couple minutes, without a menu, before a server meandered over. Then when ordering we asked for a specific type of roti and turns out it was not available (despite being on the menu) and we decided on 2 roti and naan and daal makhani and kadai paneer.

This time the person taking our order was different and I really didn’t like her attitude. Firstly she told us “We HaVe To MaKe ThIs FrOm ScRaTcH, So It Will TaKe LoNgEr” which was obviously cap as the food proved.

Then as we were waiting (30+ minutes) or it felt like for food that was obviously not freshly cooked, I overheard the waitress speaking with a table. Honestly she sounded like she didn’t give a toe about the customer and just wanted to grab them of money.

Now onto the food. It was trash. I’m not capping, like the curry was too spicy and the other was wayy too runny. The naan was rubbery and chewy and the roti was quite hard.

So TLDR: it was bad service and the food is bad, don’t waste your time as this ain’t...

I had recently been to this place, there's a lady there who I felt was very annoying in first place. We requested for a bigger table for 4 people, apparently the tables laid out for 4, aren't that big for 4 people. The restaurant was half empty, but the lady kept on saying if I receive 8 customers where do I make them sit ? Fair enough - but the lady still can arrange and prepare a makeshift 8 seater by joining tables. No, instead the lady denied our request twice - now I wonder why the restaurant was voted 3.4 stars. So what happened in the end was, the anticipated 8 seater guests never came, but it spoiled our mood and we didn't have a pleasant time in the restaurant. If the owner is reading this, please be mindful that customers always comes first, it's your ability and effort to arrange for wins heart. Food wise, it was average. Yeah, experience wise, need lot of improvements.

And this was not just us, we saw her saying the same thing to other customers as well, which clearly shows the tables are not suited for 4 people to sit comfortably. She did arrange a makeshift table to keep stuff, but YOU DONT DO THAT TO CUSTOMERS.

Another piece of advise to the lady who served there - it's okay to talk feebly as you are cautious that you might spit by mistake on the table, but there are dining and waitering etiquettes that you can practice, coz we were barely able...

We and our friends (group of 5) wanted to come in for an evening round of snacks. When we tried to call and book a table in advance, we were forced by the Indian lady on the phone to select our food and drinks from the menu over the phone. She kept saying her restaurant closes every evening at 6 pm. When we arrived a little before 6, we realised that was not the case. There were other guests seated inside that had just begun to order from the dinner menu. When we suggested we would like to sit inside to have our meal, she informed us that she had already packed our food as takeaway and that she would not be able to provide us a table inside. All this when the occupancy inside was only 20 percent. We were forced to stand on the sidewalk outside to have our paper cups of tea and samosas. The masala tea was the worst we have tasted. Sad that an Indian restaurant tried to pass off sugar syrup as traditional masala tea. We were not provided even with the most basic service of paper towels by this woman, who was downright rude and standoffish. Disappointed to see one Indian treat another Indian (or for that matter one human treat another human) with the utter lack of decency or respect. Bad food. Bad service. Worst attitude.

I can see why there is mixed reviews here. I ordered garlic cheese Nan it was good. I ordered butter chicken. The sauce 10/10 the chicken seems boiled first so the meat just tasted plain like chick didn’t have the tandoori flavor through it. The should not just boil the chicken it’s plain. The biryanis rice was nice but I felt it was lacking flavour. The chicken had the same taste like it was boiled. So felt like some parts was lacking flavor when you have it with the curry sauce its next level! This restaurant could boom if they just made the chicken marinate and just cook in the sauce, or cook it in tandoori oven. Because the sauce was healthy not oily. One of the best sauces iv ever had. Hopefully they change

Had a lunch takeaway at Guru’s Masters of Indian Cuisine recently and it was enjoyable. First off, the location is super convenient—it’s right on Park Ave, making it really easy to pop in, especially if you’re coming off the Pacific Highway. The place has a nice ambience, relaxed but welcoming, which sets the mood. What stood out most was the staff; everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive, and service was quick without feeling rushed. The food was nice—lots of flavour and good portion sizes. Overall, I’d rate it a solid 4 out of 5. Its worth a visit if you’re craving Indian food in Coffs Harbour!
