MaMaGOTO — Restaurant in New South Wales

It’s been a while since I stopped by MaMaGOTO for lunch, but as I was in town visiting, I decided to order some bento boxes for the group of 3 I was with. There was a line-up upon arrival (about 12.50pm) but it moved reasonably quickly. As the Wagyu beef bento had sold out, I ended up picking chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki bento boxes ($15 each). Both boxes were packed with the usual assortment of items and were good to eat. The chicken in both was cooked well and the amount of rice included was just right. We were on our way up the coast and this place was recommended by a local. The food was amazing and staff were very friendly and helpful. So much so that we ate here 5 times. The same waitress would check on us every time and assist us with our order. The day that they were very busy we were informed there would be a wait of 40 minutes. We grabbed some sushi to share and were happy to wait. We were not disappointed. Another fantastic meal. We are back in Coffs and happy to be eating here again. Cannot recommend this place...

My friends and I have been to Japan a number of times and get that itch every so often for some authentic Japanese tucker. IMHO Mamagoto serves really good Japanese food that is ideal for lunch, especially if time is a consideration. The menu is extensive and the girls taking the order are very helpful and if you are like me that is after a particular dish but just can not remember what it is called.
