I took my friend out to celebrate her birthday at the coast hotel last night. We paid our entry fee ans went to the bar, we hadnt even ordered a drink and one of the security guards asked my friend to leave. He claimed that she had been in an altercation earlier that night. We explained that it was not her as we had only just arrived. The security guard insisted that it was and escorted her out. I spent the next half an out out the front explaining to the manager that they had made a mistake and we had nothing to do with the altercation. The lady collecting the entry fee at the door confirmed that we had only just arrived. The manager apologised and we went back inside. My friend went to the smoking areaand i went and waited in line at the bar, after about 5 mins my friend calls me from out the front, she had been kicked out AGAIN apparently the security guard said "get out, we already kicked you out once!" By this stage the whole experience had been nothing short of horrible so we left, my friend was in tears about the way she had been spoken to and how aggressively the second security guard had grab her arm. We still hadnt had a single drink. Our entry fee was not refunded. The security guards were beyond disrespectful and rude. The situation was so poorly handled by management. I understand that with the establishments terrible reputation (ranked 2nd most violent venue in NSW) they need to be assertive, but being rude and unprofessional to patrons is never acceptable. Its disappointing as Coffs Harbour has a very limited night life and the Coast is one of the more popular places to go, but the staff clearly have some issues they need to address and i wont be going back. The Hoey Moey has a much better atmosphere and you are not at risk of being disrespected or brutalized...
Read moreNot a great experience. 1st time at this venue, I walk into bathroom while texting on phone, someone had spewed all over toilet and floor and I stand in it. It's probably still there. If you make it to toilet at least get it in the bowl or tell someone you made a mess. Gross!! Onto food.. I asked if chicken nibblies had bones. Was assured they were boneless. Onto receiving said food. They were wings. Plastered in sauce. Definitely not what I was told upon ordering. Onto main, I order a steak medium which came out very well done and plastered in sauce which I didn't order. And above all else served on top of everything else on plate. Who does that? The first thing you need to do is pull the sauce soaked steak off all the other food, otherwise cut into it and squash everything else into a puree. Chef, your not serving food to a over 95 retirement home.....unreal experience. I wouldn't eat here for free. I value my insides way to much. Never again. If people accept this as normal you've clearly never been to a good place that serves normal everyday food to customers in a form thats not great. I mean I like sauce as much as the next bloke but did the top fall off the bottle ?? I'm not one to send food back but I know people that would have sent the table and chairs by airmail into...
Read moreOk so l know lve got bad taste... I like XXXX Gold (but not out of the tap) and l like raw onion. So, lve become an orphan Recently cause my wife kicked me out. so have booked into a lovely motel nearby. Went to the Coast hotel yesterday bout 4pm and asked for two stubbies of XXXX Gold over the counter...sure... great service but was charged $20.... ok will know better next time me thinks. Next day felt like a steak for lunch so went back and asked for scotch fillet 300g for $45... but could l please have some raw onion on the side? Lovely girl turns round and asks chef who says no. So l left...after having a schooner of XXX GOLD from the tap & complementing the lady behind the bar for her cheerful service. But l mean you wanna charge $149 a killo for your scotch fillet but o'l mate chef can't even cut up a bit of raw onion on the side for a fussy customer??!! p.s there were two people eating in the dining room and 3 couples in the beer garden..... hardly warranting the too busy excuse. Please note l don't do many review's....only when l think it truely necessary as lve run a retail business for 23 years and would like to think l know a tiny little bit about customer...
