GO TO BY THE SEA INSTEAD, DOWN THE STREET- DONāT WASTE YOUR TIME It was a pleasant enough experience until we collected our order. We had ordered grilled fish for someone who was highly sensitive to oil, after asking which was grilled, crumbed or battered. When we picked it up it was battered. I took it back and said sorry we ordered grilled- the girl looked at me, smirked and said next time you should say that, Iāll have to charge you again if you want it grilled. We walked out, threw it in the bin and went to By the Sea takeaway down the road. A terrible customer service experience when it was her mistake, especially the attitude shown, enough to go to the effort to leave this review.
EDIT: after posting this review, we ate the grilled fish from By The Sea down the street closer to Scoops/the pedestrian crossing. It was delightful- great fish, great pricing with sauce and salad included and great service. Never going...

Food was okay , the girl who served us was nice but when we asked for an extra paper box to take away our food (weād torn the lids from our boxes to use as plates as we didnāt want to waste plastic plates), she said that sheād ask her manager, her manager took one look at me then said no.
When I asked her why sheād said no, she said itās company policy that they donāt give out extra paper boxes. First of all, we spent so much here and rather than wasting our food, we just wanted to take the remainders to take home for dinner.
We plan on coming back to beautiful Kiama, but will definitively NOT come back to this place. Customer service...

The staff member at the front was quite rude in wanting to serve another customer before me while I quickly checked my purse if I had enough cash (as they donāt take card) which caused no social distancing at all. The tables outside werenāt wiped down between customers unless the customer did it themselves. During this second wave of COVID there was no social distancing or ways for the customer to keep safe.
