On Sunday 27th October 2019, we tried Cue and Crew for lunch through a friend's recommendation. Below are points from our experience: Service - Our friend recommended the 'brisket' and 'pulled pork'. We looked up the Cue and Crew menu online to view their menu and noticed these items were part of the 'grazing plate' but not individual items. As we were not entirely sure, we called the restaurant and politely asked whether the 'brisket' and 'pulled pork' were available for lunch, however, when we asked the question, we were abruptly told to 'check the website'. We believe a simple 'yes/no' could provide a better customer experience.
When we arrived, my father ordered some āsmokey fried wingsā as they looked appetising on another customerās table. When he paid with cash, the staff member at the register gave change in the form of a $5 note that was entirely cut in the middle and held together with masking tape. My father politely asked for another $5 note to avoid any concerns of its validity of legal tender for future use. The staff member exuded frustration and contempt over the situation and said that was the only $5 note they had. My father suggested $5 in coins to which the staff member threw a handful of coins into my fatherās hand. We found this experience rude and very unprofessional.
⢠Food - Even though we ordered takeaway and ate at home, the food was delicious, well prepared and oozed flavour. Burgers were top notch, fries were fabulous and overall a good lunch experience. Food cannot be faulted and was surely a crowd pleaser to my family of 10+ members.
Final thoughts: I do not believe the above service concerns at Cue and Crew are reflective of all staff. Whilst waiting for our food, other staff members were polite, courteous and engaged with other customers well. I can only document my review on my experience to which I believe could be greatly improved.
If Cue and Crew continue to provide excellent food and make small refinements to their customer experience, their restaurant will continue to be a stand-out destination for visitors to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRecently I went on a road trip up the coast and Cue & Crew came across our radar for Breakfast.
I might also mention that there are two establishments. One in The North Entrance and another in Tuggerah and it is quite common to get them mixed up.
The Atmosphere was rustic and cozy, it was a wet early morning so foot traffic was quite light.
The Service was generally nice and quick. The staff were also kind and friendly.
To start I ordered a Smoked Briskett and Egg Roll. I also got a Pork Belly and some Hash Browns on the side.
The Milk Bun was nice and soft. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Brisket had a good flavour. The Cheese and Barbeque Sauce made the Burger. 7/10
Hash Browns were basic, however they tasted as if they came straight from the fryer and weren't seasoned with enough salt. 5/10
The Pork Belly was disappointing, it was over cooked and the texture was chewy. The fat was just slimy and hard to eat. 2/10
I also had some Banana Bread to close out. Overall it was okay, but it was on the dry side for my liking. I believe it missed some potential without being served with Syrup. 5.5/10
To drink I had a North Entrance Sunrise which was a 3 Flavour Layered Mocktail Smoothie. The texture was nice and thick, however the Banana did overpower the Mango and Pineapple. The Raspberry Syrup was almost unnoticeable if it wasn't for the colour at the bottom. I believe his could have been executed a lot better. 7/10
On my way out I also had a Snickers Smoothie (Skinny Version) The Smoothie was spot on to a Snickers flavour and was probably the best thing on the day personally. Great flavour and a generous amount of peanuts too. Overall a great drink while being healthy. 8/10
To summarise my experience at Cue & Crew it was okay at best, it does come off as a "hit or miss" I may have caught them on an off day.
For my next trip up the coast I will definitely be trying out their other establishment out in Tuggerah.
Total Score: Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Food: 5/10 Drinks:...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited Aug 2024, I placed my order and noticed 5 staff socialising and eating in the kitchen section some of whom had unclean jeans/t-shirts. I paid my $24 and sat at a table. After 24 minutes, I went to enquire about my flat white, orange juice, cinnamon scroll and raisen toast. I was told, you can get the orange juice from the fridge in the next section and everything else will be coming soon. I got my juice from the next section which smelt like a men's lavatory. The coffee came out soon after- luke warm, my cinnamon scroll came out hearted when I had asked for it not to be heated and the raisen toast was buttered to the max with large lumps of butter.
Water's Edge was closed and I thought I'd try something new, but would have been better to go elsewhere where you're not sitting on the side of a road, where prices are high for poor service (where's my water, freshly squeezed juice, clean kitchen, white tiles looked disgusting, serviettes and cutlery?).
To the crew- check out the competition and see the state of their kitchen, uniforms AND food and prices by comparison.
Well, your response to my fair assessment says it all, there's no excuse for slow service, unclean kitchen, and no I'm not suggesting you change frequently, you wash dirty hands and if you can't, then use tea towels to wipe dirty hands not jeas or t-shirt. My tip to you- your response suggests that you always want to be in the right and will seek excuses to justify your unjustifiable position, when instead, you should take stock of criticism. And thanks for the life changing tip, which at best is cursory...
