We ordered coffees on take away cup, and eat in brekkies before we head off home after our 3 day stay at the Entrance. Found DCE cafe with people queuing which means this cafe is really a popular choice. I can understand that it was a busy hour, and the wait staff explained that order may take awhile. Hey, of course its okay. We waited, and see all staff rushing, seems a bit understaffed too. Barrista was all but sweaty and still looks professional. Our meals were served early, okay thats promising. We finished our plates, but our coffees were still not served. Personally, I would want my coffee served first before the meal, but its okay. We still tried to understand. After another 10 mins of watching wait staff if the coffees being served are for us, but apparently not, we decided to follow up. Approached a man, and asked, and to my surprise he answered ‘I cant help you, you got to wait in your seat as you can see we are a tad busy!’
Oohh okay, someone has not had coffee yet? I think his response could have been more customer service centric, but he didnt even finished listening to what I’m saying. Again, because they are busy. Okay. Lets approach another wait staff, young lady whom we have ordered our breakfast. And boy, this lady was on fire! When we asked, she responded - ‘I told you we are busy, and there is a wait time of 20 mins, so you will need to bear with this!’ Definitely answered not in a friendly manner. She is furious,, and looked like she had a bad day. Anyway, we were ready to go without having our coffee and decided to queue and pay the bill. Finally our coffee arrived. No remorse, no sorry received, just a terrible bad customer experience that I can still tolerate but will never forget. It actually ruined our day to be honest. But hey, what can we do, they are busy, and we are not. So yes we can only understand a terrible customer service. 1 star for me. Will...
Read moreWow ... Where to start? The poor service? The weak coffee? Or the $28 seafood basket that contained 3 overcooked calamari rings, 2 or 3 bits of battered seafood stick, a hockey puck that may or may not have been a scallop, a couple of the world's smallest prawn cutlets, a piece of oven-dry fish, and some chips. Plus a salad something that we couldn't even touch - did somebody say "days old"? And we had to wait while the "waiter" decided to take photos of it for their social media. Next time I want a meal like that I'll drop a few $$'s at a supermarket for an airfryer feast of higher quality.
As for the service, having the waiter come up behind me and put his hand on my shoulder like a long lost friend was the final straw after a string of poor service, being called "mate" and "buddy", and the ubiquitous "Youse all good?" - paid the bill and left without finishing lunch or the poor excuse for a...
Read moreHahaha joke of the entrance. Make sure you wear a mask outside when your ordering. Then take it of just as they bring your food only to eat your food they made for you without their masks, gloves or hair nets. Elderly lady making the coffee with the less experienced Barista couldn't make there minds up. One said yes while the other answered no making up rules as they went along. We couldn't order inside because we didn't have a mask, we asked if we could order outside as they were doing table service they she said NO he said YES. She said but you can't pay outside, we told her we had CASH. We gave her solutions for her issues but that stiil wasn't enough. We saw where this was going, our bad for wanting to sit at a nice Cafe. If your staying at the oaks hotel keep walking up there is more nicer and better service cafes don't settle for...
