My husband said his Atlantic salmon off the blackboard menu was nice, but I was disappointed with my meal from the bistro menu, especially as we’d read some past good reviews. The menu said ‘Freshly crumbed Cowra Lamb Cutlets, shallow fried & served on a bed of baby spinach mash, finished with honey jus’. We asked if we could get sweet potato fries instead, but they aren’t serving them any more because according to the chef, no one ordered them. So my husband asked if we could get chips instead of spinach mash because we are dairy intolerant. My husband received his chips in a separate bowl. I received 3 crumbed cutlets and chips, all covered in sweet gravy (honey jus). I didn’t eat them because I don’t enjoy eating soggy chips. I hadn’t intended to say anything but when collecting our plates the waitress asked ‘How were your meals?’ I explained that I hadn’t expected my chips to be covered in gravy, so hadn’t eaten them. I said I’d prefer a plain green vegetable. She asked if I wanted to speak to the chef and I said ‘no’, but the next minute he approached our table, demanding ‘What’s wrong with the food?’ I said I wasn’t expecting my chips to be covered in gravy, and he lectured me on how he made and reduced stock for his sauces. I was told that because that was how they served the mash with cutlets, they served chips with cutlets the same way. He added that because I’d ‘eaten the whole meal’ he ‘couldn’t do anything for me’. I said ‘I only ate the cutlets, NOT the whole meal’ as I never order or eat chips with gravy. I suggested the gravy or the chips could have been served on the side. He became more adversarial and said ‘did I expect every part of a meal on a separate plate?’ & ‘I must be kidding’ and ‘that’s never going to happen’. I said ‘Of course not.’ I explained I just didn’t expect the chips to come covered in gravy. He then reiterated that I’d ‘eaten the whole meal’ and walked away. This photo shows what was still on the plate. We won’t be back.

This place is a hidden gem of a place! We had the Mediterranean garlic bread, surf and turf, lamb shanks, carbonara and chips. The lamb shanks is probably the best out of all the dishes. It literally can be pulled apart with very little effort. It was super juicy. The surf and turf was packed with seafood loke calamari rings and oysters. They did not stint at all with the ingredients. The chips were super crispy. You can literally hear the crunch. Perfectly salted. Love the carbonara as well. They packed it with beef, bacon and chicken pieces. All in all, it was pretty hard to fault.

Had a great lunch at Michael's. Fabulous lamb shanks, tender and tasty, with amazingly yummy mashed potato. Couldn't eat it all - had to take one shank home which I at the next day and it was delicious. Special thanks to Taylor - lovely lady who looked after us very well.

Food is decent quality and arrive hungry because the portion sizes are huge! Unfortunately, the service was truly awful. Despite there being a number of young staff on, they basically ignored you other than delivering meals to tables. We had made a booking and when we arrived late afternoon for an early dinner, it wasn’t super busy. We asked where we were seated and a staff member just waved broadly into the open seating area… it was our first time and it wasn’t obvious to us that the menus/cutlery/ordering occurred in the side restaurant area. Then we realised there was a specials menu also, which had a good selection, but would’ve helped to know that in advance of the family deciding their meals! Had to ask for water multiple times before just giving up and going to...
