I liked this place. Was here at the hotel upstairs for almost a week for a work thing, stayed an extra night after and had dinner here on my own the final night. It's clearly popular with locals and visitors alike, and the food is worth it. Really nice, well balanced, good selection, just enough interesting not to be boring but not so much you feel you're under pressure to experiment. Service was really mediocre though. They were lovely and polite, but gosh I felt they never came by to take my order despite telling me several times they'd be there in a moment (and whilst there were people here the wait staff were not run off their feet). You gi to the counter to order drinks separately, so I did that and asked them if I could just order there and they took another 15 mins. Then they didn't bring cutlery and that took another 5-10. The waitress had encouraged me to wait before ordering dessert, and I confess after waiting 20mins I'm about to give up and just leave. Lovely place though, just don't...

From the moment we walked into resturant it felt as though the staff were more focused on getting us out than providing a welcoming dining experience. Plates were being cleared the second we finished, often before we were truly done — including our soups, which were taken away mid-meal without so much as a word.
At 9:00 PM, we were abruptly told that the kitchen was closing, to see even the bar was closed and by 9:20, staff were visibly hovering. At 9:30, we were outright asked to leave. There was no opportunity to relax, enjoy a drink, or simply soak in the atmosphere. For a venue that advertises “Dinner from 5:30 till late,” this was misleading and deeply disappointing.
As an Echo member, I expected much better. The rushed service, lack of basic hospitality, and disregard for guests’ comfort made this one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Sadly, I would not recommend based...
Read moreIt was terrible. We booked a table. They don't have table service, so you have to order at the bar. Which is fine, but that's cafe style & it's restaurant prices. We asked for the 3 children's meals 1st. They came quickly, but they were dry & over cooked. The kids didn’t want to eat that dry, hard bun & dry over-cooked patties. The adults had to wait an hour for their meals to come. After we asked abt the meals they said they're plating up & still 10 mins, do they must have been on their way… We had the pork Gnocchi, with pork cracking (which was soft & not fresh) & very male/strong porky aroma & flavours. You can buy better quality pork at Woolies. & They were too lazy, inefficient & unobservant to even bring a spoon so we could eat the juices if we wanted to. They have a great location, what could be a great vibe. It's expensive looking & prices aren't cheap, but the food is boring, poor quality for price & cooked completely without love. We won't ever go...
