Bar Solè — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

My husband and I had been eager to visit Bar Sole for a while, and we finally got the chance tonight. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling quite disappointed. Despite ordering promptly, we had to wait for an hour before our food arrived, just 15 minutes before closing time. This left us with little time to enjoy our meal. Although the pizza was divine and the rocket salad was great, the gnocchi was only average.

Towards the end of the night, one of the waitresses apologised for the long wait and offered our soft drinks for free, which initially made us feel better. However, upon leaving the restaurant, we realised that we had been charged for the drinks, which was quite shocking and rude.

Overall, while the food had its highlights, the poor service and the discrepancy with the bill left us with a negative impression. I may consider returning for takeaway in the future, but I would hesitate to...

Food and service were great, quite busy but we got attended to rather quickly. The pricing is fair, and the pizzas were great. But on the downside there were multiple kids running around the restaurant screaming, running under tables, throwing stuff around the room. Not once did anyone in the restaurant (owner or staff) say anything to them when they were disrupting other customers. If you're paying to go to dinner you should atleast be in a comfortable environment not one ruined by children. Or atleast have people who bring disruptive kids sit in the tables...

We had Bar Sole cater our recent wedding, and they were an absolute highlight! All of our guests were amazed by the food, the variety of options, and offering something for every dietary needs. They even surprised us with a 'Just Married' pizza, which absolutely made our night. We highly recommend Bar Sole Pizza Pirates for your wedding or event. If you don’t have a special occasion, don’t miss their stall at the markets or visit their restaurant in Mayfield – you won’t regret it!
