Beaches — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

This is a MUST for any human that loves tasty, favourful, spot-on, and smile inducing food! The service was friendly, the food came out way faster than expected, and every dish ordered not only delivered on the menu description- but exceeded it! The chilli nachos were filling, crunchy, and the toppings were not skimpy at all. The jalapeno poppers were incredible, sweet and spicy! Beach Burritos served up the best Taquitos in Australia - I'm sure of it - there's no way they could have been better! I'm leaving Newcastle and can not wait to return just to eat here! I've already shared this wonderful experience with at least 6 people in less than a day!

Update after another visit.

We came back for another visit to Newcaste, excited to return to Beach Burrito. Sadly, it did not go as expected. We checked the hours and they were listed as open until 10 pm on Friday night's. That does not seem to be the case. We showed up around 9:20 pm were advised that the kitchen closes as 9 pm. I advised the young lady and even showed her where the hours are listed as open til 10. She asked if we would be okay with takeaway and we said yes. She gave us a couple of menus and went to advise the kitchen. She returned quickly to tell us that the only items we could get were the OMG Burritos. We were both starting to get frustrated and more dissapointed. Neither of us were excited any longer about Burritos and takeaway. We asked what else was good around. The young girl was not very helpful, and we ended up having a horrible and extremely disappointed and inedible meal of kebabs that wound up in the bin. I hate to remove a star from a place that I could not wait to return to. Sadly, I feel that I have to. The young girl wanted to advise me of how a kitchen works, and that was unnecessary. If the hours show as open until 10 pm, people should not be turned...

Another restaurant that substitutes a QR code for customer service. Despite how difficult it was to consult with a waitress, we managed to ask about some of the food given the confusion regarding listed dietary requirements. The waitress had no clue what was in the food or what her menu meant. I went ahead and ordered the chips and guac, corn, and Campechano burrito. No wonder the waitress was confused because each item came out with 80% of the ingredients listed on the menu missing. The Campechano burrito was bland, the beef was dry, and it was missing cheese and chorizo all together. Incredibly disappointing, ended up dowsing in sauce and leaving half the burrito as it was inedible. I wanted to discuss this experience with staff at the time rather than leave this review, but not one staff member came and checked on us the rest of the time we were there. Not when we ordered more drinks, the 3 times they cleared the table, nor when we actually left the restaurant. No one said a word. Very poor customer service that resulted in this review. I would give zero star if I could, One of the RUDEST WAITRESS I have encountered in my entire life on 2nd January 2022 , 7pm to 8:30pm. She messed up our order and came back to us and screamed at us saying this is what we had ordered.

We ordered watermelon margaritas but she came to our table with coconut margarita jug ARGUING that this is what we ordered. (She did not even know which table the order belonged to as she was walking around asking each table if this was their order and at the end left the jug on our table with 3 GLASSES and we were 4 PERSON on the table. JUST A PROOF THAT THIS WAS NOT OUR ORDER. I had ordered watermelon margarita jug and strictly said we don’t need glasses as we already had glasses from our previous order. ANOTHER PROOF THAT THIS WAS NOT OUR ORDER). Absolutely appalling service. RUINED OUR VISIT TO NEWCASTLE. WILL NEVER GO THERE.
