100% Recommend this spot. Why bother with an overpriced, dingy hotel room on the gak Saturday Night InTown with the fellas when you can choose from the multiple/easily accessible benches covered by vast canopies and relax to the sound of distant water flowing and splashing, to slowly drift off to sleep to.

Just don’t hang around in the morning unless you’re chasing unwanted attention from university students, soccer mums, events crews, climate change protesters, the local junkies😉 the police & looters.

There are amenities, taps, bubblers & a hidden spot for anyone who would possibly need to fill up a Gatorade bottle for their morning walk sesh. No soap nor smoke alarms in the amenities either.

It’s a top notch spot. Try saying that 5 times really fast. now do the same...

If you're looking for a park that's as charming as a koala hugging a kangaroo while drinking a Foster's, look no further than Newcastle Civic Park!

With its lush greenery, inviting pathways, and a massive fountain that's fancier than a shrimp on the barbie, this park is perfect for picnics, afternoon strolls, and pretending you're a statue.

And if you happen to be a fan of pigeons, boy oh boy, you're in for a treat! These feathered friends love to strut their stuff around the park, daring you to try and catch them (hint: you won't).

So if you want to experience the true essence of Newcastle, head on over to Civic Park and enjoy a day of fun, laughter, and maybe even a vegemite sandwich or two....

The green heart of Newcastle’s CBD, Civic Park offers lush green trees and mowed grass and fresh oxygenated air perfect for escaping the air conditioning office. Very popular park for relaxing and holding civic rallies and protests. Additionally civic park has frequent market gardens, staged travelling shows / graduation and memorial events. The park commemorates Anglo-Centric culture via War Monuments and the Captain Cook Fountain plus a well kept flower garden. Surrounded by Newcastle Art Gallery, University Conservatorium of Music and Town Hall, public library, Civic Theatre and 5 Star Accommodation. Civic Park is one of Newcastle’s most valued public space, is accessible by light rail & bus,...

Always a pleasure to be in this Park whether just walking through or spending time to relax reflect or just let the kids run around. What I particularly enjoy is the peace while having your lunch in this park time seems to slow down truly a beautiful place in the middle of the city. With the Anzac memorial and the eternal flame in the grounds of the Park makes it even more of a special place. Loved by all Novacastrian's.
