Urban Restaurant & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

Exceptional food and service. We are in our forties and came with our 6 year old son. We were greeted so warmly by the wonderful couple that own this restaurant, Kasia and Tim. They understand clearly how to run a restaurant. This is evident from their impressive food menu to their huge and equally impressive wine list and their exceptional customer service skills. The entire evening was one of the most pleasant experiences we have had in a while. We were made to feel special and our entire experience was perfect from start to finish. We had the beef tartare and prawns and then chose to have a selection of meat, anchovies and cheeses available for a platter, all washed down with a vin rouge followed by a night cap of their finest tequila. Will be back again? Most definitely. We want to make sure we try everything on the menu and look forward to seeing the delightful Kasia again who was superb in every way. Arrived with no booking seeking a nice dinner for us to enjoy (after our first restaurant choice only had cold outdoor seating and could not serve food for 45 mins nor provide the meal wanted.)

The staff from Urban were very welcoming and went out of their way to give us a table; they also very kindly assisted with all meal questions and requirements and we both were served delicious meals (the fillet steak and the barramundi with quinoa). I also had a lovely smooth verdello with my barramundi. This was all done with a very professional yet relaxing vibe.

Recommend for anyone wanting wonderful food, wine and excellent service! (Meal and wine cost around $100 for the two if us.)

Will be going again soon to try their wide selection of cheeses, other deli foods and broad yet...

Stylish wine bar / deli. And before you say it, the vegan risotto primavera omg🙏 They currently have a few options for both gluten free and vegan guests as well as a full a LA carte menu.

Some great vegan options and delicious food for all eating preferences. I had the spiced cauliflower and it was exceptional. And the vegan risotto primavera was one of the Newcastle's best vegan dishes.

These folks have an unexpectedly awesome wine offering with a wide variety that ticks all the boxes without the usual hefty pricing.

This bar is cozy and sleek and definitely worth your time.

The owners know customer service and hospitality to the T and I'm excited to see them go...
