WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, shouldnt even call themselves a Vietnamese restaurant, please don’t visit this place if you’re looking for decent Vietnamese food. It’s worrying knowing that people may dine here trying ‘Vietnamese’ food for the first time and all they’re being served is disappointment. They had trouble seating us although booking prior, so we stood around while servers argued back and forward infront of us. After being seated, we ordered and our orders took over 40minutes to arrive. When asking a server about the wait time on food, they just started shouting across the room to other servers and we didn’t even get a response from him. Ordered the Bun Bo Hue, absolutely rancid. Tasted like old dish water, and the meat quality was worse, it was like the meat was days old. Even the ‘Cha’ tasted off. All of us could barely make a dent in our bowls . The Bun Bo Hue served here isn’t what Bun Bo Hue is supposed to be, if you’re looking for a good bowl of Bun Bo Hue please go to sydney as it’s much more authentic. We booked the night of the big grand opening thinking they would be top notch, and food would be great but was definitely the opposite- should’ve stayed closed if this is how/what you serve your customers on your GRAND OPENING. There were people behind us that were already seated when we arrived, and ended up complaining that they were waiting for over 40minutes too and hadn’t even received their drinks . All the servers in this restaurant should be fired for their unprofessionalism, they clearly haven’t been taught to work in a food service industry, shouting from side of the room to the other to communicate. And when someone complained, they would chuckle and mock eachother - how disrespectful. I highly DO NOT recommend this restaurant and they should honestly close down, such disrespect to Vietnamese dishes and Vietnamese food in general. Cooks clearly aren’t Vietnamese or they have zero care in their cooking.

Drive a long way to come here and receive the bad experience. Here are what make us disappointed and hope the restaurant can improve it - We need to book in advanced to sit inside, or else we have to sit outside. But there is no notices about booking on facebook or website so we have no idea about this - Since we sat outside, noone notices us, we had to wait so long until 1 staff saw us waving - Have asked the waitstaff to turn on the heater, but he seemed to forget it. When other customers came and asked him, the heater was turned on but pointing directly to that table, not us. The man was also not noticing or asking us anything. - The soup were good but the noodles are kinda weird. They were cut shorten. It looks like for feeding the babies - Bun Bo Hue doesnt taste like the original one. It is not spicy at all. - The portion for each is absolutely not worth the price. The bowl is wide but really short so it doesn’t have much inside. The meat is also thinly sliced. However, the beef balls were tasty and different from other places - The cashier and most staffs were not professional. Even argue in front of us when we paying. They also not looking around to see who needs assistance and greet customers correctly. - Not-booking customers feel like unwelcomed. - Some customers left since we came because they had to sit outside if they want to eat. I was expecting more from the store due to the high price and professionalism they showed on the menu and facebook page. First time leaving the Vietnamese restaurant with not satisfied stomach. 😢 As a Vietnamese who ate at lots of Vietnamese stores, I am totally disappointed.

This place was recommended by my friend Laura. We didn’t even realise it was International women’s day until my friend Emily mentioned this, which made it an extra special night. Our hometown Port Macquarie does not have enough choice when it comes to Vietnamese food, which was extraordinary and very delicious, especially the cocktails. The waiter we had was also very attentive, patient and kind. The roses and free dessert added a special touch to a memorable night. Next time we’re in Newcastle area we will definitely be back to visit.

We have been going here for years, and have mostly had good experiences. The food is very good, however the service has gotten pathetic!

They have deleted their best main, "Banh Hoi Chao Tom", Sugar Cane Prawn with Rice Noodle Cakes. This is a major mistake, especially seeing they were the only restaurant in Newcastle to have it (as far as I'm aware).

About 3 other times on the same night we were told "sorry, we have run out of.....", and we have heard this every time we've been there lately... not good enough sorry...

The young male waiter is quite rude and arrogant. He told my wife off for briefly saying something important to her friend whilst he was taking her friend's order.

They then came out with 5 pancakes instead of 4, and never delivered 2 beers that were ordered. When Bill time came, they tried to charge us for the fifth pancake, and also the 2 beers. When we told them, he insisted that we'd eaten the 5 pancakes and drank the non-delivered beers! Their bills are hand-written and extremely hard to decipher. (Oh, and they will not split bills under any circumstances)

He eventually realised that he was wrong and backed down, but we didn't get anything resembling a "sorry". In the young man's defense, he was the one of only 2 waiters on the floor serving about 40 people, and the waitress did not speak English, so we was carrying a heavy load!

We brought 10 of our friends tonight and it ended with a debacle over the bill. We won't be back with a crowd again.

You need to fix your service guys. (And bring back the...
