Base Cafe 0870 — Restaurant in Northern Territory

This cafe ought to be congratulated on its use of native foods and supporting Indigenous producers via local distributor, Creative Native. Alice needs more of this. I make a point of frequenting cafes that showcase Australia's own produce and unique flavours and they are SO hard to come by. Cafes in Alice of all places should fully embrace what is abundant around them and stop trying to replicate the city. I say this as a former cafe owner - save us all from the culinary-banality of avo on toast! Thank you guys, please, keep expanding your native range, PLEASE! ❤️❤️❤️

Happy to say this cafe has found its mojo again! 👍👍. I used to come here years ago for the best steak sandwich in town. But chefs, menus, and management changed hands several times and for a long time there was no real desire to go back. . However good things are happening here again! The steak sandwiches are definitely worth returning for, as are the homemade beef pies, salads, cakes and coffees. Caters well to vegans and vegetarians. Service is very good thanks to Belinda who has been there a long time and is very efficient. Great venue - plenty of beautiful sunny or shaded areas outdoors and lots of different seating options and spaces indoors. Lots of parking. And right next to the RFDS museum which is always worth a look...

Had an awesome brunch at Base Cafe! The service was super friendly and warm — shoutout to Antonella, who welcomed us with a big smile, took care of our order, brought everything to the table, and even had a really nice chat with us about life in Alice Springs. Such a lovely person!

The brunch was delicious — especially the brownie with ice cream, 100% recommended! And the coffee, made by Hanna, was easily one of the best I’ve had in Alice Springs. Top 10 for sure!

Great spot to chill, have a good conver, and enjoy the outdoor terrace. Totally recommend it ! good vibes and great people!
