Bustard Town — Restaurant in Northern Territory

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

I went to Bustard Town with friends for a chill night out — and ended up being humiliated and kicked out for literally doing nothing.

I was sitting down quietly, resting my head on my hand — not talking, not stumbling, not causing any issues. Out of nowhere, two security guards came over and claimed I was “too drunk” and told me to leave immediately.

They even poured out my unfinished drink right in front of me without asking. It was honestly shocking.

I wasn’t passed out. I wasn’t bothering anyone. My friends were still inside, watching me get singled out and pushed out for absolutely no reason.

I filmed the interaction — and yes, I have video proof.

If this is how Bustard Town treats paying customers — with zero communication, zero respect, and power-tripping security — then they don’t deserve your money or your time.

The number and condition of lush, healthy plants that greet you when you step into this oasis of hospitality is a pretty good indication of the good-energy attention that is given to this hands-on, hand-made, food and artifacts place in the heart of Darwin's CBD/tourist precinct.

Pastries created on the premises echo Paris in character and quality, the décor is hard to pin down but chilled, individualistic and comfortable. The coffee is consistently great and definitely rivals what Melbourne has to offer.

The staff are authentically warm, attentive but relaxed...a great example of the spirit of the NT... Thanks gang...You really topped off three delicious days in Darwin...I definitely...

Visiting from out of town, it’s a great location and loved alfresco area. But one bar staff member ruined the experience for me - extremely rude and sarcastic in her demeanour, ordered me the incorrect meal and wouldn’t change it when I asked. Ended up being forced to buy something more expensive than I was willing to spend, and her way of handling the situation made me wish I never spent money here.
