You’ll find this fine Japanese restaurant in the Mitchell Shopping Centre in the heart of the Darwin C.B.D. The furniture and interior design are a bit dated, but don’t let that put you off. In fact it gives the place a warm, homely and rather quaint ambience.

We dined on a Sat evening, and when we arrived at 6.30pm, we were the only diners. But I knew, from the welcoming greeting that we received that we were in good hands and that the place would soon fill up, which it did. Within a few minutes, two other diners arrived, then two more, then four more, and by the time we left there was a reasonable crowd. And it’s not hard to understand why. This is an outstanding restaurant. The food is of a high quality and it’s filling and satisfying. Service is efficient, polite and attentive and prices are reasonable. You couldn’t ask for more.

You can choose to sit at the sushi counter or at a regular table, we choose the latter.

We ordered two bento boxes, one with chicken teriyaki and one with chicken katsu. The chicken in both boxes was fresh, tender and succulent, and beautifully cooked to perfection. All the other ingredients in the box were also tasty, from the delicate crispy spring rolls, to the wholesome and nutritious salad with creamy mayonnaise dressing, right down to the fluffy rice. It was all prepared with love, care and attention to detail, and we finished them off to the last mouthful.

We paid $51 for one beer, one cold drink and two bento boxes. Which just goes to show the extent to which our little Aussie peso has become devalued, despite our leaders constantly telling us that we live in a low inflation environment! But still, under current conditions it represents sound value for money.

Toilets are clean and well stocked, although it’s a bit of a hike to the end of the shopping centre near the Coles, to get to them.

This is a fab restaurant that works well on all levels, from the friendly, casual and relaxed ambience to the efficient, speedy service and fine delicate food. This place is a winner and we’ll be back next time...

The sushi is fresh and tasty, unfortunately the majority of the rolls we got off the train hadn’t had the seaweed paper cut so they were connected and it made for quite a messy eating experience.

We ordered goyza and Karage chicken - both lovely, but the chicken pieces are huge again making it difficult to eat without making a mess or getting it everywhere.

Service was ok, not fabulous but we weren’t being pestered and hounded to order more.

Overall it was a reasonable lunch, not overly memorable or enough to recommend to someone who is seeking a good sushi experience, it’s fine for a quick bite to eat on the go and pricing is equivalent to higher end sushi restaurants in...

Surprise find on very busy & vibrant night-life strip on Mitchell St. Grilled teriyaki chicken donburi with bowl.of miso soup was delicious - chicken grilled just right, moist & flavoursome - dinner public holiday Fri 25/7.. Returned Sat 26/7/25 before 8.30 pm closing time & had generous size Happy Bento.box with soup - chose Pork shoga Yaki. Tasty & satisfying for a very famished me after a long day tour to Kakadu NP.

Sushi train on Fri past 7pm had limited options. Like most eateries in Darwin city- closes fairly early on weekends & public holidayi. I was last patron on Sat!

Friendly service. Public...
