Jacobs Larder — Restaurant in Perth

I’ve had consistently disappointing experiences at this café. The barista and another staff member are extremely rude and unwelcoming. They hardly ever greet customers and never smile. There’s no “hello,” “thank you,” or “goodbye” — just a cold, dismissive attitude. They genuinely look like they don’t want to be there.

I’m not sure if they own the place or are just working there, but either way, their behaviour is unprofessional. This happens to be the only café near my workplace, which might explain the lack of effort — perhaps they feel they don’t need to try.

What’s more concerning is that I’ve never seen them wash their hands between handling food. It’s made me question their hygiene standards.

After giving it several chances, I’ve finally decided not to return. I’d really like to speak with the owner because while the coffee might be decent, the service is terrible. If I could give zero...

Went there to have a coffee between medical appointments at the Mount. Two people waiting for their food, 3 people behind the counter, one dealing with a tradie. Stood there at the counter for at least 5 minutes completely ignored. Then one of the women handed a man his food across in front of me and did not look at me. How much effort does it take to look, smile and say "I'll be with you in a minute"? They actually were not so busy one of them could not have taken my order. They clearly do not value or welcome customers. In the face of such rudeness and lack of service I left (and will never go back). Walked 2 minutes down the road to the Aurea Hotel where I was greeted with a huge smile and am now enjoying a lovely coffee in much roomier, nicer surroundings. This will be my first port of call...

Food quality is shocking, a dried up sandwich and two burnt/bitter coffees that cost us $25.00 with a surly girl behind the counter. Service was rude, the so called manager being the worst. She grabbed my coffee to bin it before I had even touched it, I had to quickly retrieve it from her. Then she told us to clean up after ourselves because it wasn't her job to do this. All this while we were still eating and drinking at the bar stools. When I told her she was being rude, she yelled at me to get out. We reported the obnoxious behaviour to the owner who listened but didn't offer an apology or even an explanation.

DO NOT GO TO JACOB'S LARDER FOR COFFEE (IT'S VERY BAD) OR SANDWICHES (EQUALLY INEDIBLE). AND AS FOR THE SERVICE, WELL THE PLACE NEEDS A...
