Metro Bar and Bistro — Restaurant in Western Australia

We had our Wedding Reception on March 3rd 2013 at the Metro Bar and Bistro and could not have been more delighted..The service was impeccable, the chefs were amazing, the food was raved about by all our guests and the location was amazing. Our wedding contact at Metro was Brooke, who was professional, helpful and did everything in her power to make our day perfect. She answered emails promptly and always had time to help us with any queries we had..particulary in the final week leading up to the wedding. The venue is a cool, funky place anyway but the staff really put the finishing touches on the decorations and it looked fabulous. We were served an amazing array of wines and beers with the friendly bar staff making sure our glasses were never empty. The floating entree was plentiful and spectacular (oh the king prawns!!!) and kept up fo the entire hour. Followed by delicious dips and warm ciabatta on each of the tables. Our mains were a choice of wild mushroom rissotto with truffle oil or a scotch fillet with parmesan mash, vegetables and a red wine jus. All tables had a great salad and vegetables. It was overwhelming how many of our guests sent their compliments to the chefs. There were great options for the children too which we appreciated. The dessert was a HUGE selection of lollies for the Candy Buffet in the wedding colours of red, black and white, with some delicious chocolate covered strawberries which was a suprise to us and much appreciated. Overall our experience was phenominal here, the price was right, the food was amazing and the staff were friendly and consumate professionals. We ate at the Metro many times in the lead up to our wedding and tried food off the different menus they have had. I have not had a bad meal there ever! I cannot say enough if you are looking for a wedding reception venue that has a cool city vibe stop looking and book in for a meal and try them out...if you are not looking for a wedding venue and are just after a lunch or dinner..try them they are the...

On October 20th, I arrived in Perth to attend a conference and checked into the Adina Hotel, located across from the Perth Convention Centre. After the flight from Brisbane, I was starving, so I headed to the nearest place to eat, which was Metro Bar and Bistro. I ordered the rib on the bone steak with chips and specifically asked for it to be cooked medium rare.

When the steak arrived, it looked appealing at first glance, but when I cut into it, I realized it was cooked medium well. I mentioned this to the server, who insisted it looked medium rare to him. I asked him to take it to the chef for verification, but he returned with the same response—that they believed it was cooked to medium rare. Rather than continue the discussion, I requested a refund. Although they were initially reluctant, they eventually provided the refund, and I left.

This place seems to stay open purely because of its convenient location across from the convention center. Without that, I doubt it would last. I hope the owner reads this review and takes steps to improve the quality of the food and service.

Needed a place to have lunch but also get some work done & Metro bar & Bistro was the place. I came here on the weekend for a friends engagement party & loved the space. It is a slightly hidden treasure unless you are corporate or heading to the convention centre. I am so glad to have found this gem. Today I had a delicious salmon on roast veg & a sneaky bubbly (don’t tell my boss) I also got a-lot of work done out in the sun in the courtyard. Last Saturday I was taken by the beautiful surroundings of the sky scrapers & lush palm trees potted in oversized pots the size of me! I highly recommend this venue for events of all kinds such as corporate lunches, engagements, weddings, birthday parties, hens & buck shows etc. the staff were really friendly & Brooke was helpful when I asked about events & bookings. Ample space, modern furnishings, stellar food & drinks menu, easy parking, alfresco seating & very clean fresh bathrooms. I am just a little surprised to have found the Metro hidden away where it is. As a sales rep you need an office that’s on the move, I will add the Metro to my diary & I will be back for Friday...
