No bookings were required for this restaurant, which made the experience very convenient and stress free. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. They were extremely nice, approachable, and accommodating, creating a very warm and relaxed atmosphere that instantly put us at ease. One thing that stood out was how attentive they were to our needs, making sure that everything from seating to meal choices felt tailored to us. We had some specific dietary requirements, and the staff handled them with complete professionalism, never making us feel like it was a burden. Instead, they offered suggestions, answered questions, and ensured everything was adjusted perfectly.
The food itself was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. Every dish was presented beautifully and tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. It was clear that the chef has genuine talent and passion for cooking, as the flavors balanced perfectly and nothing felt rushed or ordinary. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the quality was consistent across all of the dishes we tried.
Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that felt both welcoming and memorable. If time allows, we would definitely return and recommend it to others...
Read moreAbsolute worst service we have ever had in our many years in Port Douglas. I booked 3 weeks in advance for a special night out with my husband to ensure we were able to have the Feed Me menu with matching wines. We booked for an early sitting at 5.20pm as we had a show at 7.30pm. I confirmed when booking that this would be enough time for the sitting - they confirmed it would. We arrived at 5.25pm - waited 45 min without any food arriving, only two oher groups in the resturant, both served ahead of us. I mentioned that we only had limited time so would need to be served quickly. I saw the table service staff speak to the chef who glared at me, rolled her eyes and made it very obvious she did not want to assist us. The table service staff came back and said we'd have to be served all five dishes at once with their matching wines - we were gobsmacked. So much so we left without eating and hedged our bets and went into town which was packed. We managed to get a table at the tapas resturant who were lovely and the food was amazing. Safe to say we will NEVER eat at Koko's again (we are locals and eat their frequently) and will never recommend...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting and abhorrent treatment from our table waiter, surpassed only by her undeniable rudeness from the moment we walked in the door. Our booking seemed like an inconvenience to our table server, who greeted us with attitude upon arrival, despite us making a booking well in advance for 7:30pm. After being told the bar would close 15 minutes after our arrival and whilst in the process of ordering drinks, our server walked off and was visibly annoyed by one of the drinks (a Long Island Iced Tea) we had ordered. Her smugness, use of vile language (c**t) and unwillingness to do her job in the space of just five minutes was enough for us to walk out without anything arriving at the table, tipped over when she said that she has the right to refuse service after we came five minutes late to our booking. In summary, don’t offer bookings at 7:30pm with limited service, and in our case, coupled with horrendous reception. “Wi-Fi”, our server’s name, was clearly not wanting to be at her shift, and in the end, we didn’t want to be there at Koko’s either because of...
