We went to have breakfast here this morning and when we arrived there were people sitting at tables with umbrellas up at their tables. There was one table that no one was sitting at, that had its umbrella down with no sign to say not to sit there. We thought weâd help the busy staff by trying to put the umbrella up ourselves. Big mistake! We were then yelled at by a girl working there, near the kitchen âDonât put the umbrella up (pause) theyâre down for a reason!â. The entire cafe stopped and looked at us. We were only trying to help. We didnât need to be yelled at in such a condescending way. We decided not to have breakfast there not only due to the incredible rudeness but because she caused everyone to stop and stare at us like we were idiots. Could simply have said âHi guys, sorry that umbrella isnât working so please donât put upâ. So rude.
In response to your message, the table beside us had its umbrella up and we werenât just doing whatever we wanted, we thought we were helping. Weâre sorry for our mistake, we shouldnât have assumed we could do that, but your tone was not warranted for...
Read moreZanders Beach Cafe is a great choice for a relaxed lunch with beautiful beachside views and a casual, welcoming vibe. The location is ideal for unwinding, and the overall atmosphere is laid-back and enjoyable.
From the lunch menu, we tried the Salad Snack Bowl with Grilled Chicken, the Grilled Chicken Burger, the Egg and Bacon Bun, and a side of potato wedges. All dishes were well presented, with fresh ingredients and nice attention to detail. The salad bowl was light and tasty, the chicken burger was juicy and flavorful, and the egg and bacon bun was a satisfying, classic pick.
The potato wedges, while served hot and crispy, had room for improvementâperhaps in seasoning or texture to make them more memorable.
To drink, we had an iced coffee with cream and ice, a long black, and a pineapple juice. All were refreshing and served just right.
Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the positive experience. Overall, Zanders is a solid spot for a casual lunch with a great viewâjust a few tweaks to some items like the wedges, and it would be...
Read moreFriendly staff, beach side location with decent coffee, and good breakfast options.
One minor drawback, however, is related to their coffee card. In my opinion, offering a free coffee after a certain number of purchases is a great way for any cafe to attract and retain regular customers. To my surprise, iced lattes don't qualify for stamps on the card. I find it quite odd. Iced lattes are still coffee, and they cost more than hot coffees, so I don't understand why don't count for a stamp.
I understand that some restrictions might be necessary when redeeming the free coffee to prevent customers from always choosing the most expensive option.
However, completely excluding iced lattes from the stamp program, especially when they are priced higher than regular hot coffees, seems a bit unfair for regular customers who enjoy iced lattes/coffees in this hot tropical climate and would like to be rewarded with a free coffee after x amount...
