Exquisite Dining Experience at Bottega Tosacana My solo dinner experience at Bottega Tosacana was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped in, I knew it was the perfect choice for the evening. I opted for the Lamb Spezzatino d’Agnello as my main dish, and it exceeded all expectations. The boneless lamb stew, slow-cooked with Italian sofrito, red wine, zucchini, and sweet potatoes, was a culinary masterpiece. Not only was it gluten-free, but every bite was bursting with flavour. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I indulged in the tempting Wild Berry Baked Cheesecake, which was a delightful finale to my meal. Paired with locally grown seasonal berries and served with vanilla ice cream, it was a heavenly treat. Accompanying my meal was a glass of Yarra Valley's finest, the In Dreams Pinot Noir, which complemented the flavors perfectly. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring that every need was met. The atmosphere was just right, with the perfect balance of music, respectful diners, and ambient lighting. The seating was comfortable, and the restrooms were impeccably clean. I would gladly dine at Bottega Tosacana again and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience, especially for the lamb dish, which was truly outstanding.

The restaurant is mid size clean and comfortable with good atmosphere. We had a table at the window which was lovely. We were very keen to try their fresh pasta but was disappointed there was no seafood pastas on the menu. After all we were n a fishing village. I ended up having the risotto which was nice and John had the meatball pasta dish which he said was delicious. Service was quick and we didn’t have to wait to long for our meal although we did have to ask twice for the Parmesan then went to the kitchen window ourselves to grab some. The young girls serving were learning I think and they were a bit frazzled and had no wine knowledge. Bringing white instead of red. The wine list was limited but we shared a lovely Shiraz. The meals were a good size. We just had the mains and the wine and the bill came to $105 AUD but our wine was more expensive than the meal so reasonable prices for food.

It could be great but it is just OK. My partner and I were looking forward to dining here however the food just lacked. We had 2x started (Bruschetta & Caprese Skewers). Both if these were a great start. We then got main dishes. (Polla Alla) The chicken Thighs. The chicken was soft and tender however lacked flavour. The cauliflower rice was tacky and so so watery. It would be good if you didn't hear the microwave from the dining area but unfortunately you could tell the cauliflower rice was not fresh. I have used frozen cauliflower rice and it gets very watery. As seen in the images I have posted the distinct colour difference between the same dish. My partners actually had flavour however she also did not enjoy it. $100 later we are across at the local kebab and burger joint enjoying food as we were left so underwhelmed and unfulfilled. I wouldn't eat here again.

Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience with Bottega Toscana.

We booked a table for 2 adults plus a child in a high chair. The staff were lovely on the phone and confirmed the details of our booking. When we arrived for dinner on the night, we were shown to our table which was lacking the high chair. We flagged down a staff member (may have been the owner/manager) and asked for the high chair. He informed us that the one and only high chair was currently in use by another table. Any parent will tell you it’s impossible to dine with a 2 year old without a high chair, so we were forced to leave and find dinner elsewhere.

We know for sure that the high chair requirement was written down for our booking, as we had received a call from the restaurant earlier in the week asking us to move our booking to another night due to staffing issues (covid, definitely don’t blame them for this) and the waitress repeated our original booking on the phone to us with mention of the high chair when altering it.

It is disappointing that a family restaurant only has a single high chair, and that they didn’t try to make amends once their error...

After dining at this restaurant on a first time visit to port fairy I was left shaking my head. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Upon reading the menu we were informed of pasta that is ‘Freshly Made Daily!’. This was a blatant use of false advertisement which would only be discovered when hearing the microwave going from our table. Entree’s were adequate with my partner viewing the meal as something we could knock up at home in 5 minutes. Mains arrived and I instantly knew the pasta wasn’t fresh or the sauce or the very plates that they were served on. My partners meal ( The Capri spaghetti ) could easily be compared to a can of SPC spaghetti and also tasted as such if not worse. My meal was reheated as everything was just bland and disappointing. After spending $70 of my hard earned money on a dinner that could of been $4 from Safeway the only upside and I mean only upside of the restaurant in its whole was the serving staff who were very polite and friendly. Can’t say much for chef microwave. Would not...
