Central Motel Port Fairy — Hotel in Port Fairy

Work trip to Port Fairy Great central location. Friendly welcome and lots of easy parking, Room are dated and so tired, realy drab and uninviting. Badly laid out with very old uncomfortable bathroom, the place seemed clean enough but was hard to tell as everything was so old and past it. The bed was OK, a bit lumpy but the blanket was stained and tbh looked unhealthy. Not good value considering the room and bathroom. Surprising this motel hasnt been updated and freshened up given the area and location. Wall heater was good, but I'd say it would be roasting in the summer as no air con. I would rather drive back to Melbourne if this was my only choice in future, no womder rooms were availabale for 1 night only on a public holiday weekend, everywhere else was 2 night min or fully booked. I stay in regional motels a lot with work and this is one of the saddest stays...

I found from the first contact to the last, Peter and Andria could not have been more helpful. The room was spacious, clean, tidy, fresh and well equipped. |I made a suggestion to put a liquid soap dispenser in the bath area and a bath mat for the floor as it had been missed. I should have also suggested a hand bar to hold on to when getting out of the bath for safety reasons. I thought the bed was hard but I slept like a log. plenty of tea, coffee & milk. We loved staying here. It was so central, the woman at the counter (Andrea?) was extra helpful and friendly and really made us feel welcome. She was also knowledgeable about the history of the place, the oldest pub in Victoria etc. The room was right in the middle of the town. It was very clean and comfortable, and the heater, although old, was amazing. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was excellent. We could have stayed a few days longer...
