Unfortunately it was a night of wrongs....dinner order for 4 of us came out wrong....and at different times, and by that....quiet different times....firstly the pizza arrived undercooked and was taken back to kitchen to cook longer.. Was replaced with another more cooked pizza within a minute, it wasn't the same one, as new one had onion and chili which wasn't on the original one....another meal (schnitzel)came out after 5 minutes... and this meal was incorrectly plated, ordered just chips and bbq sauce...came with tomato sauce and salad... then after a wait ....the 3rd meal came out and was incorrect. When ordering we were told it had 4 cutlets, arrived with 3, with sauce after requesting none.....by then 4th meal which was surf and turf with vegetables. A cold ramikin of the tasteless cream sauce accompanied a luke warm steak...stone cold what looked like frozen vege microwaved (unlike the vegetables seen on plates on other tables) ....sitting on top of luke warm steak were 4 cold prawns...that's what they serve as a surf and turf! Requested no chips , was served wth chip basket...then ...another meal arrived, but was what the 2nd meal should have been....to top it off, no steak knives were given causing us to having to leave an already cold meal to find them....salt on tables were also empty.....staff require training, and someone to supervise and oversee the operations of service etc as staff walked around aimlessly trying to find tables with meals in hands, and continually returning to kitchen with meals.....if you didn't pay reasonable money for your meal it's worth going to be entertained by the lack of cohesion amongst the staff.....they also don't pick up glasses or clean tables and will take some improvement for us to return. To top it off when our table was finally cleared the young waitress told us that the kitchen often gets orders mixed up when they are busy....sad that they've spent good money trying to get this place happening but don't seem to be able to get it together....I know it's a club not fine dining, but it's the basics that are far from being met. We won't be back any time soon....looks hip, but...

I stood waiting today for a full 10 minutes while bar staff watched on, and the two bistro staff served plates of food. I'm happy to wait, but when I realised the staff were just filling sauce bottles while waiting for orders at the kitchen - fully aware that I and another customer were there - I had to leave. This was the worst experience I've had in a long time, a disappointment as usually the service is quite good.
The revamped Queanbeyan Bowling Club, now known as the Campbell & George is a breath of fresh air in Queanbeyan. It's a fun, relaxed atmosphere with a family friendly vibe.
Food is top notch with plenty of options from the usual array of pub food, plus delicious wood fired pizza. Full bar is available, with a selection of craft and domestic beers, as well as spirits and a decent selection of wine.
Pokies are there, as is Keno and TAB, but it's not in your face.
What is there is a massive, grassed outdoor area with games and activities to keep the kids entertained, or you and some mates on a warm summer afternoon.
There's ample parking, with angled rear to kerb out the front, of a large lot out the back for...
Read moreHad my 50th there this weekend. The manager (I think) and Phoebe were lovely. The other woman in reception was pretty rude to me and most of my guests.
There wasn’t anyone to explain the rules of lawn bowls with no party host for 45 people which was honestly hard to manage. I chose a venue instead of home so I didn’t have to work the event but that’s not how it went.
The food was expensive and the platters were smaller than I thought they would be so I had to buy more food on the day.
All in all the guests had a good time and they had mixed reviews on the catering. The energy it took for me to organise things like chairs, signing guests in and tables was more than i wanted. It’s also not the most disability friendly venue.
I’d highly recommend for people who know how to play lawn bowls and have a...
