As recommended by our tour guide who was organised by our cruise ship company, we went there for our quick lunch there. First up, it’s a good long walk from Skyrail Kuranda Terminal, around 20 minutes in normal pace because this pie shop is located at the far end of the village stores, just opposite to the Kuranda visitor centre. The distance from railway station or Skyrail won’t be an issue if you drive, but it’s a bit difficult for elderly travellers, especially when it’s an uphill journey and then a downhill one when returning to the train station. They’ve got what a pie shop normally would offer, and you won’t be disappointed, however, you might need to wait for a few minutes because the pies could go pretty quickly. Staffs are usually very busy and they would try to accommodate all your needs and choices, in a business-and-busyness manner, so I felt a bit less friendly, but you just ignore it. Pies we tried, with three types of their products, were more on the salty side, but other than that, they are crispy, fresh and full of flavours. Prices are quite reasonable, perhaps because of the competitiveness among the village stores (there are really so many cafes, pie stores, eateries etc there!). I also tried their milkshake and it is just not professionally prepared and it is understandable, so it was not a big issue for me, as long as it is freshly made. Overall and usually, for a travelling group of us four elderly people, it’s a once off visit, and so it’s entirely up to you to decide. Lastly, there is a playground next to the...

We stopped here for ice cream on a hot afternoon and it was delicious! It wasn’t till we were almost back to Cairns that I realised I’d lost my wallet somewhere along the way! Racked my brains to remember the day of the shop, found them on the web and managed to send a text. They had my wallet and went out of their way to get it mailed back to me in Sydney asap! Stop in and try their beautiful looking baked goods - these people deserve...

Food was okay, but very overpriced for such simple pastries.

Service was rude and rushed, and at one point the cashier shamed my boyfriend for asking about his allergies

We were upcharged on sauces without notice before payment that they costed extra, and was treated with disdain when asking about it.

The atmosphere was hot and overcrowded, and the kitchen looked like an 1800s Dirty...

We came later in the day so I’m sure if we had come earlier the pies would have been hotter and fresher. I had the vegan one with chili and my mom had the beef and pea. They were good and hit the spot, but weren’t anything to write home about—especially as this was my mom’s first aussie pie!

Hello, my favourite Pie Shop in FNQ. Just had the Beef & Chilli, very spicy! ($7) partner Gluton Free Beef Pie, a bit overpriced at ($10). I would recommend a visit, as I send everyone here and they are blown away at the quality of the pies!! Sorry about the pie picture, could wait!! 😁
