Birdwing Kuranda — Restaurant in Queensland

That was perhaps the single worst meal I have had in my life. We ordered a chicken wrap, a ham toastie, a veggie burger and ham salad sandwich, together with some smoothies.

Ok let start with the smoothies. It is impossible to make a smoothie with absolutely no flavour at all, in fact doubly so if it is a mixed berry smoothie. However well done to the Birdwing you managed to create a flavourless purple mess in a glass.

The food. To be fair we should have realised what we were in for when we saw they had a 3.1 rating. But what I did not expect was to see a bunch of under talented teenagers trying to run a restaurant. The food was a combination of flavourless bread with a streak or Margarine (who uses Margarine anymore) and a single slice of salami bulked out with a ton of shredded carrot. The chicken wrap was initially not delivered and frankly we should have left it that way. Again no flavour, dry chicken and the obligatory ton of carrot. Now you would think it impossible to muck up a ham and cheese toastie. Which would be true if it had actually contained more than one single slice of ham and a waft of cheese. The vegetarian burger was like a a cardboard round between two stale buns with sweetcorn and ..... yes you guessed it a ton of shredded carrot.

In short do not eat here if you have any taste buds or just any...

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is hands down one of the worst cafés I’ve ever been to.

The first red flag hit as soon as we sat down the music was absolutely blasting. I literally couldn’t hear my own husband, who was sitting right next to me. A café is supposed to be a spot to relax, catch up, and enjoy your holiday, not somewhere you have to yell over the speakers just to talk.

The service was a complete disaster. The staff spent most of their time standing around chatting to each other instead of actually working. Meanwhile, our order took forever to come out and when it finally did, it wasn’t even worth the wait. When I asked to speak to the owner staff advised they weren’t around.

To top it off, the prices are outrageous for what you get. Paying premium café prices for coffee and drinks, service that’s lazy, and an atmosphere that feels like a nightclub is beyond insulting.

This place is overpriced, careless, and completely mismanaged. Between the deafening music, the useless staff, the owner’s absence, the late service, the terrible food quality, and the disgusting hygiene, I can honestly say I’ll never be back. If you value your money, your ears, or your stomach, do yourself a favor and avoid this place and go...

tables and chairs were filthy. we had to ask 4 times to have our table wiped because it had soft drink and ice cream spilt all over it, by the time our food had come the table which still hadn’t been wiped for us and when asked if we could have it cleaned we were snapped at and told they busy and would get to it when they could, that’s when i realised it wasn’t just our table that was dirty the whole establishment was filthy! We ordered 2 pizzas to which, we were under the impression were home made bases which wasn’t at all i can buy the same bases at coles and throw some topping on and call it a home made pizza !!! but the whole thing was just a soggy sloppy mess, the so called “fresh” sandwiches we ordered should not be advertised as fresh when the bread felt and tasted like it was 3 days old and stale, Our coffees were even undrinkable. and our thick shakes would not have had any more than a half a scoop of ice cream in them if that!!! and for $12 i expect more than topping and milk!! We did ask to speak to a manager or someone in charge but were told he wasn’t available today, it was just an all round terrible dining experience, if your looking for a clean establishment and good food i would steer so far clear of this “cafe” as you...
