This restaurant surpassed expectations. As a visiting Melbournian who does a fair amount of corporate dining, I felt the quality and freshness of the food was astounding. Let’s just say that the oysters were so good, we ended up getting 3 rounds and they went out of stock!! You get a single ikura (salmon roe) egg for every shucked oyster 😆. I can vouch for the freshness of all the raw fish that was served that evening. i.e. there were no traces of sour flavours to preserve freshness in any of the seafood or meats. The wagyu beef tare tare was an interesting one to try as id never had it with cheese. To be honest, I’m a bigger fan of the Nordic style but this still gets points for freshness! The duck meat was cooked beautifully, not dry at all and very flavoursome. Similar comments can be said for the karage chicken - cooked in fresh oil and very tender. Beautiful combination with the smoky mayo. In pictures you can tell it is cooked with fresh oil when the output is lighter colour. The black sesame crème brulee was also a new experience. If you’ve had matcha crème brulee I’d say this one is sort of similar. Shoutout to the friendly waiter who enhanced the evening with good conversation. We’ll definitely be dining here again during our next visit! Highly recommended for business dinners/dates.

The food was amazing!! Highly recommend!! The lamb was the star! It was sooo delicious. We got it as a starter (2 pcs), but it also comes as a main. Whatever the sauce on the side was, was just so yummy. It went so well with the marinade the lamb had. Yes it was a little bit spicy (2 of 5 spicy for me) but it's just so full of flavour it works so well with it. Everything else we got was really yummy too! Ask for medium rare for the wagyu and it was cooked perfectly. Mains did not come with rice, and they mention that you can get rice on the side if you want. I asked if the mains needed to be eaten with rice and they said not necessarily. So we didn't get rice. And we didn't need the rice. It was so filling and the flavours on each dish were so well thought out. They did not stinge out on anything. Thanks to Allen also for being so attentive and helpful with us through the entire dining experience. Could not recommend enough!! 🙌

I went for lunch. The waiting staff (young man) was friendly and accomodating. The more senior staff was not friendly- keeping her back to the customers being busy at the entrance, blocking somehow the entry without addressing the customers. I have chose a rice bowl with fried chicken and omellete. First impression was the the portion appears small and it is. Fair enough for lunch. Chicken meat was undercooked and that can be a huge issue ( salmonela exposure). The rice was sticky but while covered from the omelet, i cannot say much about. The omelet a bit more salty than it should be. Overall, just two stars for food. They have a great variety of sake but no Calpis in their soft drink list. Atmosphere could be great. It was cold though in a cold day. Otherwise, decoration is nice and it could be a great restaurant. A bit more attention on food and a friendly "owner/senior staff" would earn it even a 4 star overall.

A Culinary Delight: Kuro Beko Offers an Unforgettable Dining Experience

Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kuro Beko for lunch, and I must say that it has quickly become one of my favorite culinary destinations. After visiting the restaurant on three separate occasions, I can confidently attest to the consistently remarkable experience it offers.

From the moment you step through the doors, Kuro Beko greets you with an enchanting atmosphere that is both elegant and welcoming. The attention to detail in the restaurant's design creates an ambiance that sets the stage for a truly memorable dining experience. The soft lighting, tasteful decor, and comfortable seating all contribute to a sense of tranquility that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the culinary journey that lies ahead.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the food. Kuro Beko unquestionably delivers a gastronomic adventure that tantalizes the taste buds and leaves you yearning for more. The lunch specials, in particular, are a testament to the chef's expertise and passion for creating exceptional dishes. Each plate is meticulously crafted with an exquisite balance of flavors, textures, and presentation. Whether you opt for a traditional favorite or venture into more adventurous choices, Kuro Beko never fails to impress.

Equally impressive is the exceptional level of service provided by the staff at Kuro Beko. The restaurant's team is not only attentive and friendly but also possesses an in-depth knowledge of the menu, allowing them to offer insightful recommendations based on individual preferences. They ensure that every aspect of your dining experience is taken care of, leaving you feeling pampered and well-cared-for throughout your visit.

What truly sets Kuro Beko apart from other establishments is the consistency they maintain. Each visit to the restaurant has been nothing short of extraordinary, leaving me with a deep appreciation for the commitment they have to delivering excellence. Whether you're a first-time guest or a regular patron, Kuro Beko ensures that every dining experience is met with the same high standards, making it a reliable choice for any occasion.

In conclusion, Kuro Beko has undoubtedly captured my heart as a must-visit restaurant for lunch. With its delectable cuisine, captivating ambiance, and impeccable service, it has consistently delivered a remarkable experience. If you seek an unforgettable dining adventure that tickles your taste buds and indulges your senses, look no further...

This was our 2nd visit with friends, and we decided to return as our first experience was really good. This time not so good. Go for the food but not the service or the ambience. It was very poor, and they didn't check on their guests at all. Thye all seemed to be rushing as though they just wanted us to finish our meals and leave. The food was all dumped on the table at one time, plates removed while others were still eating, overall not a very good experience they just seemed to not care, and we felt really rushed. We wanted to order another bottle of red wine, and the staff were so scarce that after waiting for some 15 minutes or so for someone to notice us we gave up and my husband went inside to organize it himself. It finally came out and the wait person literally plonked it loudly in on the table, UNOPENED and walked away. Our wine of choice was $85 per bottle and while we know this is a not a 5-star restaurant we were pretty gob smacked by this lack of service. The food is amazing, but we were very let down by the overall ambience and service or lack of. Such a disappointment as my first review I gave Kura Beko was well deserved and we were so looking forward to going back. Not sure if we will go back as one of the joys of dining out is the ambience, the food and service and this visit lacked 2 of...
