Great service and mostly the meals we ordered were ok. Just a couple of anomalies…. My partner ordered pesto spaghetti and I bolognese. After we received our meals my partner asked how my spaghetti was. I answered a little hard, maybe not quite cooked properly. Because we don’t frequent Italian restaurants often I do not by any means classify myself as an aldente expert. But it did taste to us both a little hard/underdone. Next, my partner asked me to taste her dish which I did and immediately tasted a certain fishy flavor which is why she wanted me to taste it. During the meal though she realised that flavor was in patches and not the whole plate. We mentioned this to our waitress who assured us no fishy ingredients were used. Logic tells me she was correct yet we cannot deny what both of us tasted. Perhaps there was a cross contamination somewhere in the preparation. It can happen I guess. My bolognese sauce was ok. Can’t say it wowed me but nowadays with Google reviews and such are we expecting perfection in our own eyes? It can be tough for businesses that are genuine and do try. The fishy thing didn’t overly phase us as the overall experience was good. The ultimate test is if we’d return. Yes I would. 👍😃

Enjoyed a lovely dining experience on Saturday night. Entree of Bruschetta, which was a perfect sharing size. I am very fortunate to have a family friend that makes the best bruscetta I've ever had, and the entree from La Fettuccina was so so close, easily the best bruscetta I've had from a commercial kitchen, ever!! I had a mains of fettuccini pasta with cream sauce chicken ham and mushroom. From the first mouthful to the last it was simply amazing. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked, the chicken was melt in the mouth and the sauce was full of flavour without being too overpowering. A perfect combination. Dessert for me was a simple affogatto. The vanilla ice cream was very creamy and the coffee shot was well made with a good crema. Combined the dessert was a perfect finish to my meal. The service was outstanding, with the staff being attentive but not overbearing. Any request was met with a smile and courteous attitude. Pricing was very reasonable. I've definitely paid more for a lot less in all aspects. It's nice to see a good restaurant that offers such delightful food without gouging you at the till. All in all, the experience could not be faulted and I would be in heaven if I could eat there every week.

What a fantastic dinner! La Fettuccina has been around since the mid-1980s, and now I understand why. This spot delivers high-quality, handmade Italian food. I had the spaghetti with pesto sauce—fresh, light, and flavorful—and my husband ordered the penne arrabbiata, which had just the right amount of heat. Both dishes were excellent. We also shared a bruschetta to start, which was nicely done, and enjoyed two glasses of Australian wine—both very good. I asked for a little extra sauce on the side, and they brought it out immediately with a smile. Service was quick and friendly throughout the meal. The menu is long with plenty of variety, and the portion sizes are generous without being over the top. We were looking for something authentic and not overly touristy, and La Fettuccina delivered. It’s slightly tucked away but still within walking distance from the Esplanade.

A very uninspiring meal. Me and my friend shared a bottle of wine, an entree, bread and a main. The house Sauvignon tasted like a five-dollar bottle of wine. We got scallops for entree; incredibly average, considering we paid $22 for it. The sauce was completely bland. I've had much better scallops elsewhere in town. The garlic bread looked like it came from Woolworths. I would have loved to have asked the wait staff more about it, but they were nowhere to be seen for most of the night. There were only 8 tables in. We had the gnocchi for main. Horrible, awful. All I could taste was chewy potato. The sauce was bland as well. Me and my friend didn't want to eat it, but again the wait staff were nowhere to been seen. I would have loved to have talked to the staff about it on the night, but seeing how I wasn't asked as all restaurants normally do, I didn't bother and I doubted their problem-solving capabilities anyway. Not once did a waitstaff ask how our meal was going. Only once did they top up my wine glass after I had completely drained it. I don't think it's wrong in my thinking that that is usually part of the service, considering what I was paying. Fair enough if it was busy, but it really wasn't. The male waiter was ok but the female waitress was so unfriendly. I can't remember seeing her smile, it was obvious she didn't want to be there. I've always heard really good things about Fettuccine, but honestly, save yourself the hassle. There are much better Italian restaurants in town, for around the same price, that will actually blow your mind. I've never walked away from a meal so disappointed and underwhelmed, considering I paid just under $100 for...

Long Review but bear with me. Alright so normally when I get any type of service I don’t mention the people unless they exceptional in a particular manner… and I will get to that. First two times, awesome pasta, lovely selection of wine and despite it being a terrible day raining, had a great time. This last time however was awful with a singular redeeming factor.

The reason it was so terrible was the young lady, no she’s not a lady she a little brat. Just so you, (aswell as the owner) know who I’m talking about it’s the blonde with the glasses, who when we politely asked to have the pasta sent back to the kitchen as it was undercooked (not a huge deal honestly) , the pasta was hard in the middle. She told us “some people like it that way” ,” it’s all timed and cooked to perfection”. As if we were the ones at fault and how DARE WE!! Then after 5 minutes she came and threw the plate down in front of my partner without so much as a sorry. When I went to pay, she had so much visible attitude.

NOW, the REDEEMING factor. When the food came back perfect as we’ve had it before and awesome as always, and the GENTLEMAN which I hope you get to meet and I wish I knew his name personally (to mention) was absolutely amazing and is the reason we are coming back. I really hope that girl with the glasses gets fired, because she is single handedly ruining one of the best Italian experiences in cairns. I mean it, this restaurant shouldn’t suffer because of a waitress with the mannerisms of an...

What was supposed to be a pleasant anniversary dinner was sadly nothing of the sort.

As the business owner in hospitality, the face of the business is the staff who greets the customer.

Upon our arrival the young girl who greeted us was not at all pleasant, a smile and kind words at the beginning would have been personable as a lovely welcome.

We arrived on time and were told to wait outside as our table was not ready.

We requested to be seated on another table but were then told that the table requested was seating for three, we were a couple.

The alternative offer was outside, which we accepted which was in the heat.

As we were eating our meal my husband found it uncomfortable due to the heat.

We moved the table slightly to be underneath a fan.

There was no one else within the 1-5 mt proximity.

The young lady abruptly told us “ to move that table back”. This could have been managed in a far more pleasant manner.

Already feeling uncomfortable from the moment we arrived we decided to not spend anymore time in this restaurant.

I would not recommend this restaurant due to very disappointing service, and the seafood pasta only contained a very little amount of seafood, and mostly pasta. My ravioli was nice.

The young waiter was very pleasant and I thank him for making our night easier.

As locals of 37 years + we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to any friends and family.

The business owner could perhaps be looking after his future patrons...
