This restaurant has very much become my favourite place to eat in Cairns and you really need to do yourself a favour and go if you haven't already 💖
Let me just start off with my most favourite drink on the planet. Chloe's "lemon drop" 🍋💛 I have to say lemon is generally not a flavour I usually go for but this is now and always will be my favourite drink until I die! Dramatic? Yes! True? Yes! I challenge anyone to find me a cocktail I will like better than this one!
My favourite thing on the menu is the brisket cheeseburger. I've had everything on the menu and I haven't disliked a thing but my go to is just this lush lil burger with the juiciest most softest meat with the best flavours. That's what you get when you smoke it with love for over 12 hours!
The last photo is from a different night where two friends shared the platter that's on offer. A bit of everything including a bit of all the meats, corn, salads, pickles and even tacos so if you can't decide this one might be for you. If you like American bbq you will froth over this place like I do ;)

Read moreI usually love Slap and Pickle, but they were really skimping tonight at the Taco Tuesday night. I had some nice jalapeño poppers for $16 (expensive with a meal right?) and the taco plate for $25 (only a dollar cheaper than what it usually is).
The tacos contained measly portions of meat. So much so that I was shocked. I pointed this out to the waitress and she got me one new taco out of the 4 where 3 of the four had a tiny bit of meat on them. I’m not sure why this wasn’t checked before the meal came out or indeed after 2 of the tacos with little meat were returned. When I got the one improved taco back it only had the bare minimum average amount of meat on it. The tacos also lacked sauce and you had to pay extra for sour cream. There was a tiny portion of pickles (not enough for all four tacos). The main ingredient I definitely tasted was olive oil. The tacos were swimming in it.
There were also some men sitting near me who were swearing constantly and kept going into the kitchen.

Read moreOrdered the 3 meat tacos and asked if the shells were corn (I can only eat gluten free). Was told they are "soft" and erroneously assumed they were soft corn. When they brought my order out I immediately realized they are wheat based tacos that I can't eat.
I then ordered the same thing but with baked potato (which was nice of them, as their fries are not gluten free). The food was good overall.
The waiter came later and asked if they can "take them away". E.g. my first order with flour tortillas. I thought they'll box it, but apparently they just scrapped the food instead of giving it to me so I could have given it to a homeless person.
At the end they still put the original wheat tacos on my bill. No discretion towards customers in a confusing situation. Pay the whole bill, waste the food, and overall just an ok attitude both from the waiting staff and...
