We visited Pacific Coffee Co. after spending a few hours in Bundaberg and needing lunch and drinks while in the area. The consistently high reviews guided us there over the many other options available in the area.
Upon entering the building, all 4 staff members behind the counter ignored us. We wandered over to the display cabinet and, while assessing the meal options, became somewhat annoyed as the staff continued to disregard our presence. My wife eventually had to break the ice by asking a gentleman if he was able to take our order. Not a great start.
Amongst our group, we ordered a range of meals. Our various rolls - Mediterranean, Italian, Chicken & Aioli - were complimented by all and enjoyed. My son had a sausage roll which also garnered praise.
Our drinks also got the thumbs up, with the Cookies & Cream thickshakes winning rave reviews and my own Chai Latte being excellent; thick and creamy with great flavour. Ironically, the least impressed was my wife who had selected a flat white. She deemed it above average but has had better in recent weeks.
An assortment of desserts ended proceedings and, again, everyone enjoyed their selections. We had purchased a White Choc Raspberry muffin, Salted Caramel slice, Nutella brownie, Mint brownie and, for me, a slice of Lemon, Raspberry & Almond cake. Very nice indeed.
The venue itself had a tranquil, almost 'library-like' feel, which I rather enjoyed. Background music was very soft and the mood was quiet and sedate, the type of space where you could crawl into a corner with a laptop or book. This was an unusual but positive detail as often we're forced to talk over a blaring sound system or collective customer chatter.
Overall, Pacific Coffee Co. has plenty of things going for it. Had it not been for the initial lacklustre reception which, unfortunately, did impact our experience, I would have...

Read moreLovely decor Mediocre coffee Awful service Aloof and unfriendly young ladies working there. Ordered a coffee. All spare tables dirty. Staff walking back and forth taking orders to customers but walking back empty handed (you think they would clear tables) Ordered my coffee, got the feeling I was interrupting them. Got ignored when I asked nicely one of the staff if they could clear a previous customer old dishes off a table, so did it myself. Coffee came, no spoon. Again ignored, I was either invisible or all staff hard or hearing. Plenty of other places in Bundaberg to get a coffee, won’t...
