Tandoori Taj Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Queensland

After months of living on a island with limited food selection, majority of it being fried, sad and as fresh as a John farnham comeback concert. We decided that as a truce to our stomachs and taste buds for the horrible treatment the past few months, we'll eat out at one of Hervey bays various restaurants. We were set on Indian, but after a traumatizing experience at another indian restaurant in town we were second guessing our choice. Did we really want that dreaded uncomfortable visit to the toilet that usually is accompanied by bad indian food? Do we risk it for the biscuit, and try out another indian place? Prehaps we should do Thai instead? Or seafood? As the minutes passed, our stomachs grew emptier and our decision making became foggier. We were hungry and tired. Not quite hangry, but that was on the horizon. We reverted back to our desire to have indian food and we chose 'Tandoori Taj Indian restaurant' on a friend's recommendation. We dined in - we were first in - okay.. let's have indian! We ordered the banquet for 2 (plus a side of ribs) and awaited the fruits of our decision....... It was a winner! The entrees were various and delightful, the ribs especially oh to die for! I didn't know the names of any of the curries and just lucky dipped which ones to get , turns out our luck was in. With stomachs full, and with spare food to take home, we were satisfied and content. And most importantly, had gained the trust back from our stomachs and taste buds. Thankyou...

You need to read this !!! This place has got one of the worst hospitality in the restaurant business, even my daughter who has just turned 5 was feeling very uncomfortable every time we walk pass the restaurant and asked to explain in simple terms why was the lady very unkind. We believe the lady who served us was the owner of the restaurant we had to leave as she had said something like If u wish to eat it is fine otherwise you are happy to leave. As we were leaving one of the staffs we believe could be related commented to her that she is always rude to people. From the start to the end this restaurant will change the perspective of Harvey Bay which is otherwise full of beautiful people and place. So make sure you avoid else it will be marred by horrible experience..also notably u can see that the bad reviews are consistently posted by indians decents which seems like she is the same rude person is racist... We need to be kind and nice to all humans wherever they come everyone in this world should reciprocate based on ones nature not for commercial benefits. Whoever still visits this place and feels it is wonderful be fair in your judgement observe how others are being treated before you say beautiful things as it needs...

Worst experience I’ve had with any restaurant in Hervey Bay. Ordered through DoorDash and we arrive just as we were notified that our order was ready to be picked up. Before ordering we checked to make sure the store was open and Google and their Facebook both said the store was open. Yet when we arrived the store was completely closed and locked. There was absolutely no one inside or any signs indicating that the store was closed. We called 5 times and knocked on the door, but didn’t get an answer for either. We contacted doordash who also called the store twice and didn’t get an answer. They were extremely confused as to what was going on. To make matters worse we live out of town and had our 9 month old with us while we waited for 10 minutes trying to figure out what was going on thinking maybe they were only taking online orders, but that wasn’t the case. They were just closed and having people waiting around like idiots. I will never be ordering from this sorry excuse of a restaurant again. Extremely disappointed. I would genuinely give no stars...
