DO NOT COME HERE - DO NOT COME HERE (I visited at 5:30PM on Saturday 25th of May) Now that I have your attention, you may be wondering why I have a plate barely eaten, I tasted a few things on the seafood buffet night, I didn’t eat any seafood due to poor health conditions, poor quality of seafood, fishy smelling crabs and prawns, I’m not risking death to eat here, multiple patrons using there hands to pick up food instead of the tongs places out, if you are a manager you should be on top of that with additional signage to tell people not to do it You may be asking why is your plate so boring, I couldn’t even eat the supposed safer food, food tasted horrible, after taking a few bites I started to feel sick, fountain drinks were additional costs on top of the expensive buffet aswell which is ridiculous. A young girl working there asked how is everything I answered it was not good she chose to walk off without investigating. If this is how you treat people who spend money to be there then I don’t want to see how you treat people who don’t. My gf and I walked out without paying for the drink I had. I won’t give you more money for the worst eating and service experience I’ve ever had. You can see in the 2nd picture my dinner for the night right after the disappointing birthday dinner my girlfriend had. $130 total > 0 food consumed > Horrible Night Achieved

It’s a great place to sit and they have big table. However, for a restaurant in such a big hotel, it’s a bit sub par for a buffet. You go here if you have lot of kids with you and want some spacious seatings plus they can go play outside later. Good selection of desserts options. Opinion: Instead of trying to have a large variety of hot and cold food, they should concentrate on hot food options and sea food. If people want cold cut they can just easily get it from the deli at Woolies. People come to restaurants like Palm to get restaurant quality food. I was there for more than an hour and the cold cut table is barely touched. On the other hand, the hot food needs to be constantly replenished. Hot food need more varieties and flavour profiles. Need more than just some “safe bet options”

We decided to go to the palm house on a Thursday night kids eat for free and $39 for adults. We have only ever been on a Saturday seafood night before so we didn't know what to expect. There were still lots of prawns to enjoy and a large smorgasbord of chicken, lamb, beef, tacos, nachos soups, salads, chineese ect ...and more deserts then what you could poke a stick at. Fantastic variety for the price cannot complain definitely left feeling full satisfied will return mid week again.

First time at the new The Palm House buffet, have been attending all buffet restaurants since 1986. First "Sails", than "Aqua", ...."The Palm house," has many good points but let down, by no free tea, coffee and soft drinks as before, would not mind paying a bit more to see these essential items returned. Ambiance par Excellence, truly captured the essence of North Queensland living in a Queenslander home. Congratulations to the interior decorator, the details were most pleasing, and amazing, from the wide timber style flooring to the cane chairs, and Palms wallpaper, what was most impressive was the fine detail of the china plates in the style of the old tin plates with the blue rim, which were common in the early Townsville households. The Buffer offered a wide range of cuisine to pamper the most fastidious dinner. However, North Queenslanders are known for their healthy appetite. The greatest disappointment, were the Thumbelina thimble size deserts. Set in the very commercial style fridges, I felt I should have had a shopping trolley, unbelievable ....but there it was ,right in the middle of this glorious Tropical ambiance. this super market fridge,. The only saving grace in the desserts section was the free soft serve ice.cream. The self serve ice water and soda water was a nice addition. Best of all was the friendly service, when once considers how young they all were; Their quiet respectful unobtrusive way they remove ones used plates ... to their lovely smiles and courteous service was exemplary. From the front desk to the chefs, waiters they were simply awesome. We will be back , To the managers would you please consider returning the free tea, coffee and soft drinks and replace the Thumbelina Timble size desserts with our normal size cakes, than The Palms House would simply be the Very Best, better than all the rest, as the song goes. God Bless you all....

DISAPPOINTED. I and my mom walked in to the Plam House at approximately 6.30 PM. The reception staff told us that they got an earliest available table at 8.15 PM. My mom wanted to have seafood dinner so we were alright to wait in front (there are some chairs beside the reception and we were sitting there). I provided my surname and phone number for reserving the table. At around 7.20 PM, there was a couple of people just walked in as well. I observed that they asked the staff and took a seat in front of us. 10 minutes later, that couple talked to the reception again and they finally got the table. I thought it’s impossible this can be happened as I believed in the restaurant so I continued waiting. At around 7.50 PM, there were another two people came and asked to have table for two and they get in. I was so curious as I was waiting there just in front for 1.5 hours no one checked on me and Mom. I then came to the reception again and told them before 10 minutes to our reservation time that is there any table for two AT ALL, they checked in computer and got it straight away. TT. ..... to ensure that what I am thinking is right I already asked that couple when I was in the restaurant if they booked table or not, they said NO. Why can’t staff saw us waiting just beside them ? Why people who came after us with no bookings as well can get in first? I don’t mind and understand that we have to wait as we didn’t book but is it fair to us if it likes...
