Ribs Lane Subiaco — Restaurant in Subiaco

I went to the Subiaco location. I’d give the food a solid 3 star, I would give it a 4 but 2 of the burgers we orders were burnt, like it was so visible that the buns were dark brown. Obviously people like their burgers different ways so I ask the waiter, she says “okay” with a very rude attitude, personally I’m a nice person so I don’t think too much of it. So then I see the waitress bring the food but puts it on the very edge of the table and walks off, with an attitude on her face and not even saying anything, then proceeds to whisper and point at our table to another staff. I know this sounds like me being a Karen but that is 100% rude to do. My younger brother had also ordered the Nashville burger and the burger was also very burnt on the inside, I wanted to ask about that one, but I felt intimidated by the staff member who was still laughing and pointing at us. The Subiaco location is way worse than the one in mount lawley, in mount lawley the food was perfect, and the staff would check up on you and ask “how is the food” or “how is everything” every 5 minutes, this is what Subiaco location is lacking. As a huge rib lane fan I will never been returning to Subiacos location and will be telling others not to, as this isn’t right. The atmosphere of the restaurant was decent, nice view and the seating outside with the heaters was very nice on a cold winters day, I’d give it a 4 but that customer service was atrocious. I hope Subiaco owner that you are reading this as I’m sure you are doing an amazing job, but you need to train that specific staff member properly as she clearly needs to learn how to deal with customers.

Some pros about the restaurant:

1. table was very tidy and clean
2. beef ribs were amazing and nice (highly recommend
3. food comes in very fast, especially when it was busy when I visited

I rang on Tue 11th Mar and booked a table for 4 for my wife's b'day for Sat 15th Mar for 6.30pm. Gave them my full name and phone number and asked how was the parking in Subiaco as I haven’t been there for a few years the guy said should be ok. After driving from Marangaroo paid for parking and we rocked up at the front at 6.25pm on Sat, but the excessively smiling lady said that there is no booking for us. After I assured her that I rang earlier in the week she kept asking me if I had a confirmation number, I said, I used the office number to call, I didn’t have it on me, she kept throwing some other people’s names at me like I forgot my own name or something. We asked if we can be sited anyway and with that annoying grin on her face said you can sit over there on the edge of the street table like we were some rugged scum and that we had to leave by 7.15pm mid you after our long discussion about the booking now it's 6.45pm. No intention to see if they can accommodate us for a bit longer that 1/2h on this special occasion or even apologise for the misunderstanding. It was most humiliating experience I have had with any restaurant in my life as this was all done on the street in front other people. We left very disgruntled and hungry. Rang the Burgery Bar in Wanneroo to help us out and they were GREAT. Rib Lane you need to train you staff to TREAT PEOPLE like people and not some street dogs. Came here for the first time tonight. Good vibes, staff are kind, friendly and helpful.

Got the Mexican mozarella stick, ribs + wings, ribs + steak and couple’s combo (I had the ribs + steak for myself). They don’t skimp on portions - great portions for the price you pay. Definitely come here on an empty stomach if you want to be able to have space for all the food!

The highlight has to be the beef ribs though. Pork ribs were good but the beef ribs were amazing.

I also got a biscoff thick shake and it was great.

My partner (who ordered the beef ribs) said these were the best ribs he’s had so far in Perth and he’s not the most lenient with compliments! 🤭

I also have to mention I am impressed with your menu - it was extensive but neither too simple or elongated. The items we saw on the menu were also quite unique (ie haven’t seen some of them elsewhere).

The only small constructive comments I have are:

1. the music volume may be a little too loud (we had to request them to turn it down as we couldn’t hear each other over the music) and

2. the tables were a little sticky but the restaurant overall was clean/tidy and furniture well maintained

This will be my go to now if we ever want BBQ/ribs. I will try your seafood boil...
