The restaurant was lovely, nice decor and atmosphere. I came in for lunch on a Friday afternoon, so it was slow, the restaurant was not busy, there was only one other table being served in addition to ours. So it was lovely and quiet. I imagine that on a busy night that it could get quite loud inside, but for lunch, it was nice and cosey!
The lady who served us was working alone but she didn't look stressed or anything, totally had things under control, was cooking, serving, cleaning, all of it, including restocking the fridge and she just got about it with smooth efficiency. She was also a lovely host! I didn't even get a disapproving look for admitting I couldn't use chopsticks and would need a knife and fork, she just nodded politely and went and grabbed them, as they don't seem to be standard on the table, you do need to ask for them, but she was lovely about my useless ability to use chopsticks and just took it in stride and sorted me out. She was really a lovely and polite woman, and modest, she blushed a little at our complements of her food.
And the food, oh wow. The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation amazing. It is some of the best Japanese I've ever had. It did take some time to get the food, but given there was only person working, it was understandable and the food quality was so good that the wait was well worth it! The serving size was also massive, especially for a lunch - the meal prices are incredibly good for what you get, I would have happily paid more than they charged for their food and the amount of it that I got!
Highly recommend. Shame I don't live on the Sunshine Coast and would be able to take advantage of this restaurant more often - it will definity go on my list of places that I'm guaranteed to visit when I'm on the Sunny...
Read moreArrived at Ginger fairly late at 830pm, and when we arrived the staff were clearly exhausted and run off their feet from a busy night. They still greeted us warmly, smiling and cleared a table very quickly for us to sit down. The service was very fast, drinks arrived within minutes followed by our entrees. Sashimi and seared scallops were super fresh and high quality. There was a lot of sashimi for $24, and it was certainly A grade sashimi. Our mains arrived just after we finished our entrees, a beautiful ramen the broth had a very deep flavour and generous pieces of pork. Teriyaki chicken was a HUGE serving, very tasty and so cheap for the size of the meal. You would normally pay double for that amount of chicken! The sushi rice that accompanied the chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the side salad had a delicious miso dressing. Simple but so good. Very surprised and impressed by this restaurant. Simple setting with a good vibe and high...
Read moreMy friends and I went here the other day for dinner, we absolutely love it.
We ordered takoyaki, cheesy okonomiyaki, green tea chocolate mountain, and one hot cake with green tea ice cream and banana. The total cost were $47, and us three was so full. Takoyaki came as six octopus balls, served with mayo and teriyaki sauce I believe. The octopus pieces was the biggest I have ever been eating in the Coast. Cheesy okonomiyaki was literally as cheesy as it sounds 🤣 and it was huge. And if you are sweet dessert lover, must come here. The two desserts we ordered was so much bigger than we expected, three people couldn’t finish two desserts. I don’t think I need to describe anything else, just look at the photos and you will understand 😉.
Was a bit of the wait for the food but staffs are lovely and customer services were excellent.
Great view for an ideal date by the...
