I buy food here often but after my experience this evening will not be returning. I ordered takeaway and asked if I could take a seat outside whilst waiting and was told yes that is fine. After sitting down for a while a man with an abrupt manner asked if I had booked. I said I was getting takeaway and he moved all the cutlery and plates away from my side of the table and said that he would have to disinfect them due to covid.I was not sitting right near the table and I had asked permission to sit outside, I wasn't sick, I am clean and well dressed. As the restaurant is small there is nowhere to wait other than blocking the outside pavement. Over time I have also noticed that the curries are made up of a lot of liquid and not much meat or vegetables . It's a shame that this obnoxious person works there as all the other staff are lovely. Will not...
Read moreVisited on a Friday night , start of the school holidays, so expected lots of people. We were the only ones. Went for a walk afterwards and past by and still no people. Mainly some take aways. We live locally and hadn’t been here for quite a while. We were surprised at the hike in prices- average meal was $30 with rice as an extra. We had the seafood salad that was so disappointing(3 prawns, no fish, a few mussels, a bit of squid, lettuce leaves)Poor ingredients and was more like an entree. ($29) The other dish was more generous- stir fry ginger, duck. Generous and tasty duck but ginger flavour was sadly non existent. The dish was $35 with the plain rice. Corkage was $2.50 per person. 🙃 Overall would not be returning. Certainly not value for money and quality is variable. Ambience on busy...
Read moreMy in laws love this place. They go there all the time, and invariably when we visit we will have either a takeaway or dine-in meal adventure. And look, it suits their palates. They are fine people, they like good wine and company, and their hearts are in the right place. They like me as a son-in-law and seem to be happy that I have married their daughter. But they aren’t foodies. Their idea of exotic is a bit of soy. Their idea of adventurous is red onion. And that’s ok. But this place is pretty ordinary. Everything is drowning in sweet sauce, and I think in a blind taste test it would be impossible to tell the difference between red duck curry and pad Thai. Come on. We can be better than this. The serving sizes are large and generous, which is great. But oh boy - how sweet thy...
