GoodAsian Maroochydore — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

We picked this place to get take away as other chinese restaurants in the area didn't seem to have a menu as expected - one without other cuisines like Thai or Japanese mixed in - and the smells welcoming. But if you have a more discerning palate and are used to authentic taste then you will likely find the adulterated fare here that appears heavily geared towards "Western tastes" disappointing. Having menu items like Carbonara and Mongolian Lamb with noodles should have been a warning sign. Nevertheless we ordered rice based dishes and came away very underwhelmed to say the least. Service was very quick, but there's minimal room to sit so just about everyone would be doing take away. The Nasi Goreng is pretty horrible with rice soggier than their own boiled rice and flavour more like fried rice with curry sauce than what Nasi Goreng actually tastes like. The Honey Chicken and Rainbow Beef are both heavily battered to the point where it was difficult to tell if the beef was actually beef. The honey had dripped to the bottom of the container leaving the top portion undressed, almost as if it was not actually tossed in honey whilst cooked. The Rainbow Beef and Sweet and Sour Pork might as well be identical as the sauce is the same for both. At least the Special Fried Rice actually turned out as expected. Although we probably had more of a delay before eating the food, this was still under 20 minutes and we've had food hold up better than this before. You may also have better luck with the noodles which we did not try or if lucky enough...

I'm am sooooo disappointed with the Good Asian Maroochydore. I order take away quite often from them, but after my last few experiences I won't be ordering from them again!!! When I got home I realised they had left out all the Seafood, I called to tell them and the person who answered the phone had a TERRIBLE understanding of ENGLISH, I asked if I could speak to someone that understood English and I was told I should not be so rude to staff (I was totally offended as I wasn't rude when I asked) they were just offended that I asked. When I tried to explain my situation, they then said I was yelling...I WAS frustrated trying to explain but not yelling, then they hung up. This happened twice. I'm sorry, but if you are going to open a business in Australia I believe you should have a fairly good understanding and be able to speak the language of that country and OWN YOUR MISTAKES!!! Stayed in a nearby apartment for a long weekend and this was the only place we visited twice. Really happy with the food and value from this place. After checking some menu's online I saw that this place was a little cheaper than others in the area, so I figured that their meals would be a bit smaller, but I was pleasantly surprised to find their meals were substantial, not to mention delicious. I tried the Singapore noodles and one of the mixed/combo stir-fry dishes and was really happy with both of them. It even made me look up a recipe for singapore noodles to try and make it at home; I've only tried once so far and it was no-where near as good. The meals are ready in a flash too.
