I recently visited Harry's Bistro at Kings Beach and, unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant.
Service: The service was quite disappointing. Despite the fact that there were no other guests, we had to wait a long time just to get our drinks 🍹. The wait for the food was equally long, which only added to our frustration. Although the staff was polite, their lack of empathy was evident. For example, our cutlery was placed directly in front of our faces 😳, and towards the end of the meal, we noticed the waitstaff giving us strange looks. It almost felt as if they were aware of the poor quality of the experience but did nothing to improve it.
Ambience: The atmosphere of the bistro left much to be desired. The seats were uncomfortable, making it difficult to enjoy our time there 😕. To make matters worse, the owner's child left a shoe in the middle of the walkway, and no one seemed to care enough to move it. This lack of attention to detail significantly detracted from the overall dining experience.
Food: The food was, unfortunately, the biggest letdown. The portions were small and not at all satisfying 🍴. The seafood was served with too little sauce, and what was supposed to be a crispy fried dish was anything but. The fish in the fish burger was incredibly greasy and tasted far from fresh 🐟. The pizza, which was heavily advertised, turned out to be nothing more than a frozen product with some vegetables thrown on top.
Overall, Harry's Bistro was a disappointing experience. The poor service, uncomfortable environment, and subpar food made for a meal I wouldn't recommend to anyone. There are much better places to dine at Kings Beach that offer better food and a more enjoyable...
Read moreThis is an example of a restaurant that is located in a busy area with many visitors and tourists, but very limited options for dining. They can get away with cutting costs and corners and they do so to maximise profits at the expense of quality.
I couldn’t finish my fish burger and all of the food items were so low quality while remaining premium cost. The fish tasted like frozen, budget fish like you’d buy from Coles or Woolworths with a very fishy and frozen flavour despite being directly on the coast. The milkshakes were sickly sweet even my kids didn’t enjoy them, like far too much syrup was used.
The first bite of the fish burger tasted like butter and the second bite like low quality, greasy frozen fish. I don’t think the sauce was amazing either as it tasted a little too tangy, maybe it was old. The cheese used reminded me of the cheap bulk sliced cheese you get that is the supermarkets own brand. Just overall miserable experience with low quality food - we were starving from a day spend swimming and still couldn’t finish it.
It was not made up for by exceptional service either. The cashier rung up the order at $55, then was spoken to by a colleague in a different language for a minute or two, then re-rung up to $65. This is fine, it may have been an error that was fixed, but it was rude to not explain, address or apologise for it right in...
Read moreTerrible service. The menu was missing half the items the outside menu had. The atmosphere was disgusting as the fans had a thick layer of dust on them and lights were flickering on and off. The waitress handle all of the eating end of our cutlery with her hands and the tables around us remained uncleared until new customers arrived. We ordered for 7 people and they only cooked 5 meals leaving our kids without. When we asked the didn't even know what they ordered so had to cook them after which meant the young kids had to watch everyone else eat first. Food was so so and lacked flavor. Also tasted like prawns were frozen not fresh. The waitress didn't even know what pizzas were what when delivering them to the table. The bathroom facilities were also poorly maintained with the urinal barely hanging on the wall and terribly stained as well as no soap to wash your hands. Staff were not interested in customers at all and never even asked how our meal was which in this case is probably a good...
