RANT COMING. I have been in Hospitality and business for a good portion of my life and know that customer service will always be your point of difference. In saying that…we just had the WORST experience at this restaurant. We sat down at a table that had not been cleared, but offered a nice view and patiently waited for somewone to come clear it. After about 5 minutes still no one had offered to clean the table so I politely asked (only because it had spilt milkshake and was sticky) Another 5 mins passed and nothing. I asked again and the waitress basically looked me up and down and walked away. Mind you by this time we had looked at the menus, ordered our coffee and breakfast and the coffee had been delivered to the table. Then the young seemingly polite waitress came and took the old bottle of water off the table and I thought oh yay FINALLY a wiped table but no, no cloth, she was returning to “wipe our table” which again didn’t happen. Fed up with having to wait i approached the seemingly friendly waitress at the counter to ask for a cloth to wipe my own table…only to be told we are busy! (There we’re literally only 3 tables of guests and about 7 staff). I stated that I had now asked politely 3 times and no one did anything. She proceeded to raise her voice to advise me that I didn’t need to be rude and could leave if I wasn’t happy 😳 No I’m not happy, would you be? So we did and I told her in no uncertain terms she could stick her cafe where the sun don’t shine and she literally SCREAMED at me to get out. OMG I have never been so embarrassed. It was something you see on the internet. And shortchanged me on the refund! Absolutely disgusting service and venue and obviously will not be back. On the bright side we had a lovely breakfast at Drift and guess what? The first thing they did was….wipe our table...
Read moreWent for lunch with my husband and our friends today whilst visiting them in Caloundra. The place was fairly busy but was manned by very young staff (ie. around 15 -18 years old) who seemed rather overwhelmed. The staff I have to say though were very polite and dealt very well with what appeared to be a lot of complaints from customers who had been waiting ages for their meals. We ordered 4 meals and some wines/beers. After waiting over 45 minutes they brought out the wrong wine (white instead of red) then my ‘eggplant parmigiana’ came out but it was actually crumbed zucchini, no eggplant in sight. The fish and chips was overcooked and swimming in oil and the medium lamb curry was very mild and rather tasteless (there was also no poppodom as listed). My husband’s burger was apparently nice which was a bonus. After complaining ( in a constructive way as we felt for the young waiters) we got a refund for the 3 uneaten meals but it was a lot of wasted food which I don’t like. Not a good...
Read moreDuring our stay at the Sunshine Coast we visited Yeti Restaurant 3 times - twice for brekky and once for lunch. My absolute favourite was the Naan breakfast, loved it enough to travel from Brissy tomorrow just for breakfast! It's rare that you go somewhere that is that good that you can't wait to go back.
Staff are lovely and and welcoming. Not as busy as most the places on the water front.
Pricing is extremely decent, especially when you have kids also. Servings are very generous, quality is fantastic. My son loved the kids burger lunch, I couldn't get over the size of the burger. Our other two boys loved the bacon and pancakes. We have found that a majority of places don't put much care into kids meals, but here what they served for the kids showed that they put just as much effort into the kids food as...
