**Two Stars for the Angry Baker** Let’s start with the good: the service was top-notch! Our server was as cheerful as a sunrise, and the location is simply stunning—perfect for a leisurely brunch or a coffee catch-up. Now, onto the pies. I decided to test their “award-winning” curry scallop pie, which set me back a cool $14. I was expecting a flavor explosion, but instead, it felt like a culinary whisper. My friend ordered a curry pie as well, and it was so bland that I half-expected it to be served with a side of plainness. I’m baffled by the awards—maybe they were for presentation? Because in the flavor department, these pies could use a serious pep talk. If they’re angrier than their namesake, they might just bake up something worth that price tag. Until then, I’ll be enjoying the view and hoping for a flavor miracle!

Above average pies. Fillings like the chunky steak are slow cooked. I had the butter chicken pie and the chunky steak and cheese. ($7 each) Pies tasted good. I was expecting more chunks of steak in the chunky pie, but I think the slow cooking process breaks up the normal chunks of meat - it had a nice depth of flavour. The taste was pretty good. I probably shouldn't have had the butter chicken for brekkie... Good pieces of chicken and flavour. I would try the lamb and chicken mornay next time. Friendly prompt service.

I bought a loaf of sourdough wholemeal bread here, and it was beautiful. It was crusty with good texture inside and had a little taste of sourness, which was a real treat. It was excellent toasted with vintage cheese and also with avocado and feta. There's a wide range of cakes, slices, croissants, quiches, and meat pies, which appear to be a specialty here. The service was very welcoming. I'm a huge bread person and would recommend the sourdough.

Went there about 11am to try the pies and get some lunch, would have been better off getting subway close by. I got the plain mince pie and it was the most disappointing thing. It was as if they just processing mince with a starch substance as the filling. Barely any flavour and dry. The pastry didn’t help as it was just as dry. It cost $8 and the size was small. These are on par with the 4 and twenty ones you’d get from Woolworths

Staff were...
