🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 – A bowl full of heart (and a perfect chai)
This was one of the most extraordinary café experiences I’ve ever had.
I walked in feeling hungry, and there it was – a free pumpkin and carrot soup. I couldn’t believe it. I asked three times – and the answer was simply a warm smile and the words: “It’s free.” It wasn’t just soup – it was a gesture of kindness. I felt like someone was saying, “I’m glad you’re here.”
The chai latte? Brilliant. Served in a large mug, with beautiful foam on top, and perfectly balanced – not too sweet, not too bland. The flavor, the aroma, the texture – everything was just right. Clearly made with care.
The staff were lovely – both the lady at the counter and the man preparing drinks were kind and attentive. People came in with families, with kids, and everyone felt relaxed and welcome. And the music? On another level. Thoughtfully selected, calming, and full of light.
I also appreciated the blend of cultural touches – the Australian warmth paired with little Eastern details, like the lucky waving cats at the entrance. This place has soul.
I didn’t try the rest of the food, but I saw people enjoying their meals – and coming back for more. That says everything.

Read moreFried chicken for breakfast?! In benny sauce?! Entirely localised in this establishment?! Yep, an absolute thumper of a dish! Would be excellent if you had a thumping headache from consuming a few standards the night before. Or, if you just wanted something to keep you powering all day long. Horseradish vibes in the sauce was a nice twist. Highly recommend.
Partner had a standard issue eggs benny. She was not available for comment at this time but she very, very much enjoyed it. Generally, if someone is not speaking when they eat (for someone who struggles to stay quiet) that is the best indicator you have absolutely nailed a dish. Eggs; gooey yet firm, spot on.
Coffee was bang on and even got a banoffee smoothie (doubla shot of espresso, banana, caramel) on the way out.
It’s about time this strip got somewhere that takes breakfast seriously. To quote Nutri-grain advertising material from roughly 1999-2003ish(?) “you only get out what you put in” - eating here, you will be putting ‘in’ excellence which will make you in turn,...
