The Surf Club Mooloobah is located at Mooloobah Esplanade, Mooloobah QLD 4557. Established as a surf club in 1922, and being one of the oldest surf clubs in Australia, this historic place celebrated its centenary last year šŸ‘ When you enter this place, you immediately see the Memorabilia that aligns the walkway along the lower floor level. It shows just how much the past members of the surf club have contributed. Many young men & women have started their career in this historic place & gone onto representation honours for Australia. I was more than impressed by Lois, a 25-year staff member of the surf club, who made me & my family members feel so welcome. The time Lois took to share some of the highlights of this establishment was outstanding, such a wonderful person to have met.šŸ‘ Fine dining can be enjoyed on the top floor of the club. There is an excellent place on the ground floor level where you can relax with family members & friends šŸ˜€ Due to the popularity of this surf club, prior bookings are essential, particularly during the holiday periods. Parking can be an issue. The Mooloobah Esplanade is a particularly busy thoroughfare for traffic, with Mooloobah being a mainstay holiday destination on the Sunshine Coast šŸ˜€ Fantastic beach views of Mooloobah and Point Cartwright are worth the visit while enjoying a beer or one of their fine Cocktails šŸø There is a menu available online that has a wonderful range of meals available, including vegan & vegetarian meals. The seafood platter for 2 is worth the price šŸ˜‹ The surf club has wonderful areas for watching live sporting events on large screens. Great live music is another way to ensure that your time šŸŽ¶ For people with disabilities there is a lift onsite that can take you to the top floor level. My overall impression of this establishment is that it is a wonderful place to enjoy quality time together with friends and family.

The location of this place is amazing. If you were any closer to the water you would be in it. Lunch was lovely. The Lamb Kebabs with tabbouleh and hommus was a tasty treasure. The large lamb pieces on the kebabs were juicy and perfectly cooked. It was worth the $34 price tag - which says a lot because I'm not one to pay a lot for meals. This, to me, is a lot of money to pay for a 'pub meal' but it was worth it. Every element was well made and delicious. The portion was large. My friend had the Thai Beef Salad. She said the salad was lovely. It looked fresh and crunchy with a great variety of veggies. She thought the beef was cooked to medium rare and then sliced and added to the salad. She expected it to be marinated or coated in a tangy sauce, but it wasn't. It was an unusual way to serve a Thai Beef Salad and she wasn't sure she liked that aspect. My other friend ordered a Chicken Schnitzel with chips and salad. This is a classic 'pub meal' that is usually filling and safe. Not too much goes wrong with this dish - which is why I often order it. The schnitzel was beautifully cooked and a generous size. All 3 of us really enjoyed the meal.

4 months ago Staff were excellent!! Very welcoming and helpful even though it was busy. Unfortunately, only one dish is available vegan. It's not the 90's anymore, not everyone is happy with the body parts of tortured individuals, nor is it very environmentally responsible to be continuing to push dead sea animals when we're supposed to be "saving our oceans" ... ...the main gripe today was the $30 salad (no problem if it was a decent serve as it's for a good cause MSLSC). At least maybe mention it's a half serve, and offer an upsized serve for adults or normal sized people. Even just make it as big as the other meals with all the dead animals. The Thai salad was good, just tiny. You could veganise the whole menu easily and just add the dead animal bodies and secretions as sides. That way, there's far less chance of contamination. See NETHERWORLD menu in Brisneyland for a simple example OR just have a separate vegan menu. Ask for help if you need it. All that aside, nice place, beautiful views, clean facilities, fantastic staff...

Mixed Experience: Decent Food, Good Service, Troubling Management

I recently dined here and walked away with mixed feelings about the overall experience. While the food was acceptable, the exceptional service was overshadowed by a troubling observation: the mistreatment of employees/customers by the managers.

Upon arriving, I was promptly informed by the manager that the restaurant had a no-shoes, no-service policy. I completely understand and respect such a policy, as it's crucial to maintain a certain level of cleanliness and hygiene within a dining establishment. However, it was the manager's demeanor and approach that left a sour taste in my mouth.

Rather than politely explaining the dress code, the manager's response was unnecessarily harsh. They seemed disinterested in providing any assistance and instead exhibited an unwelcoming attitude. This abrupt and discourteous interaction was a stark contrast to the level of service that I expect from a dining establishment, especially from a manager.

Upon returning to the restaurant (with my shoes on), my hope was to have a more pleasant dining experience than before. However, it quickly became evident that issues with management persisted. To my dismay, I observed another manager berating and appearing to mistreat more than one waitress in the back of the establishment. The sight of this behavior was not only disturbing but also deeply troubling, as it demonstrated a pattern of mistreatment towards the staff.

The continuous incidents of managers being rude to the staff cast a dark shadow over the entire dining experience. Such behavior creates an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere for both diners and employees alike. It is disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism and empathy from those in positions of authority within...

I recently attended a family gathering at for my partner’s milestone birthday, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The entire family had traveled to be there, and we had specifically chosen this restaurant months in advance for its renowned ocean view and ambiance. We even made our reservation two months ahead of time, specifically requesting a table with an ocean view, only to be seated at a table at the back of the restaurant, far from the view we were promised.

To add to our disappointment, we brought our own cake to celebrate the occasion and were charged a $50 cakeage fee. While I understand that some restaurants charge for this service, I expected the fee to reflect a higher level of service. Instead, when it was time to bring out the cake, the waitress arrived with the cake still in its box, the candles were left in the packet, and she handed us a lighter to light them ourselves. I had previously communicated my request to have the cake brought out on a plate with the candles already lit, but that clearly wasn’t taken into consideration.

Naturally, I was quite frustrated and repeatedly asked what the $50 cakeage fee covered, only to be left with the impression that it was simply for walking the cake 20 meters from the kitchen to our table. Ultimately, we ate the cake straight from the box, which was not the experience we had hoped for, especially considering the special occasion.

Overall, the experience fell short of expectations, and I’m left feeling disappointed after what was supposed to be a memorable celebration. I hope the restaurant can take this feedback into account for...
